Snippet Sunday

Here's a snippet of my Stardew Valley fic. It's a long one, where Shane will be the Love Interest. But here's a snippet from the first chapter:

The bus speeds over a pothole, sending my head straight into the metal frame of the seat window. "Ow!" I hiss, reaching up to rub the spot while simultaneously scooting to the middle of the seat. That's what I get for sitting so close. Before my hand rejoins the other around my backpack, I let out a sigh of relief when my fingers show no trace of blood. I turn back to the window, watching several colors flash past my window with little thought. My right thumb idly rubs my left knuckles as I take note of them—pink, blue, yellow, white—all on a big base of deep green. The wild garden wraps around the bottom of the mountain, proud and distinct. I smile, my head leaning on the back of the faux leather seat. I roll it backwards to look forward, focusing on the road ahead now. I close my eyes and suck in a deep breath, waiting three heartbeats before letting it go. Then the road appears before me again, and I give in to the urge to check my phone.

WIP Wednesday

I'm tired but here's a cute little snippet from Ch. 22 (WIP) of "Right in Front of You"

Eddie worries his lip between his teeth. "We'll pick up Chris and then..." "Just stay the night," Hen presses. "We have a guest bedroom and a blow up mattress." Buck feels the tears stinging his eyes again.

🎉 150k by July 25th 🎉

Goal: By July 25th, my 1-year anniversary, hit 150k words on Ao3

AND I DID IT.

On July 22nd, (Ao3 lists the fic as 7/23 because it was past midnight) I hit 150k on words on Ao3.

This was a goal I set for myself just for the shit of it. And I fucking hit it. I noticed my word count around late June, and so I had a month to write around 20k words.

I usually write around 10k per month. So I literally put in double the work. CRAZY.

During this time, I've uploaded:

2 New WIPs

Chapter Updates for 3 fics

Finished 1 fic

Like that's insane to me 😭

Most of those OneShots were old fics from when I was younger, and I wanted to clean them up and put them out there to get me to my goal. That was fun <3 I added two fandoms from that.

All in all, this was awesome. My friends were super proud of me, and now I have a shit ton of stuff I can go back and reread.

Thanks for all of my readers. I appreciate you guys. I can't wait to keep writing :3

🚀 Buddie Headcanons pertaining Project Hail Mary

Buck has read the book, audio book, and seen the movie. Multiple times each

Eddie doesn't read, so he saw the movie with Buck (and Chris, maybe Theo) in the living room and has been filled in on the missing details / BTS info (like Rocky's puppeteer being his VA) via Buck's rambling.

The three of them (E/B/C) decided that their safeword(s)/emoji is now "Hail Mary" / 🚀 (Eddie is probably a little weirded out by it cuz yk BUT he's allowing it to take a different connotation)

Buck's favorite duo was Grace and Rocky

Eddie liked Stratt and he teared up at the movie's ending

Buck cried throughout the whole thing and continues to cry with each rewatch and read
