What to Eat?
In honor of tonight's Game of Thrones premiere, will Tyrion Lannister eat a dragon egg, or a manticore egg??

Volcano! (Or Dante's Peak)
In honor of the two volcano films that were released simultaneously in 1997 is this delicious pasta dish:
The volcano itself is made of noodles, with eggplants as dried lava rocks, parmesan as snowcaps, and tomato sauce as (of course) molten lava.
Dangerous and delicious!
Terrifying
In our constant search for movie shaped foods, we were at once gleeful and traumatized when we saw these Mickey Mouse pretzels for sale at Disneyland. On one hand, pretzels are delicious. On the other, someone just baked a beloved childhood character into a twisty roll of bread!!!
Integrating Halloween into Thanksgiving
In honor of Halloweensgiving and *insert your favorite vampire movie here*, we made some delicious, frothy, boiling blood out of red wine and dry ice. Surprisingly easy to acquire, dry ice provides hours of fun for the entire family!
Deliverance
This is a slightly morbid movie, but it has the most famous canoeing scenes in film history.
We made the "canoes" out of plantains, and filled them with cod. Delicious! Though I guess it would have been more appropriate for Deliverance if we'd filled it with pork...
Finding Nemo
This weekend I watched, Up, but, since I didn't have a multitude of colored food on hand for balloons (future post idea!) I decided to pay homage to another of my favorite Pixar films, Finding Nemo.
I used lime jell-o molded in a cupcake tray and put it in water to create the jellyfish forest that Dory and Marlin have to navigate through. If only I could convince Ellen DeGeneres to come over and re-enact the scene with me...
Sakura Cupcakes!!
Tonight's theme is just happy delicious! My good friend and founder of Sakura Cupcakes came to visit and baked these amazing dark chocolate cupcakes with Bailey's frosting. They would put a smile on anyone's face!
Pacman
Does this count as a TV/Film property? I say it does!
This yummy Pacman is made of Brazlian "Minas" cheese, and the little ghost is a creatively peeled orange. Delicious with bread!
From Here to Eternity
OK I'll admit, we didn't make this one, but we did eat this delicious beach scene at a restaurant recently. Its sand castles made of sorbet, and seashells, starfish, and jellyfish made of fruit jellies were instantly reminiscent of the classic beach scenes in From Here to Eternity Yum!
Leaves of Grass
In honor of the season finale of Breaking Bad (noooooo!!! I can't wait another year!!!), and our most hated W. W.
Shelob
Thanks to Kathleen for inspiring our first post-vacation dinner! This is Shelob, the arachnid monster from Lord of the Rings (if she were orange), made of a bell pepper and on a rocky surface of (Mordor) lentils.
The Greatest Show on Earth
Another dinner courtesy of delicious vacation food.. We had no idea when we went to Argi Eder that we would be in for such a visual spectacle to go with our food.
This zucchini appetizer was made in the shape of a circus ring, with some basil sorbet as the mustachioed ringmaster, surrounded by prosciutto "tigers". Delicious!
A Bug's Life
Tonight's picture comes from a ridiculously decadent dinner I've just had on my vacation. More to come!
The ladybugs were made of strawberry gelée filled with condensed milk, and the footprint was a chocolate graham cracker. Mint leaves and more condensed milk filled out the background, as well as a plate with a garden theme painted on it.
Blue Ice
In honor of Breaking Bad's triumphant return, tonight we present you with....
... blue meth!
Just kidding, it's Pop Rocks :)
Feasts of the Southern Wild
Tonight's deliciously decadent dinner is in honor of Beasts of the Southern Wild, one of the best films I have seen in a very long time. It takes place in the Louisiana bayou, and, aside from being extremely poignant and evocative, the scenes of the protagonists eating mountains of shellfish made my mouth water!
¡Viva España!
Tonight's dinner in honor of this year's Euro Cup champions - deconstructed paella made with grape tomatoes, saffron rice, and grilled shrimp. Yum!!
Prometheus guest post
A slightly abstract interpretation of the main room in Prometheus, with hard boiled eggs (Photoshopped dark) as the containers of black goo, over a surface of lasagna.
