Comic-Con Tip #4. Lines Be ready to stand (or sit) in line. All of the big name panels (Hall H and Ballroom 20) will usually have lines that will last for hours. Don't get discouraged. This is where your trusty backpack (from tip #1) comes in handy. If you read, bring a book. If you play on your phone or tablet, bring a portable charger. You should bring a small portable chair as well. This will make those hours in line much more comfortable. If you are into board or card games, bring those in your pack too. Comic Con Tip#3: Cash is King. In today's day and age, people use everything from chipped cards to Apple Pay to Bitcoin to make their fandom purchases. At Comic Con, cash is king. Buying your exclusive comics and Funko Pops will likely require cold hard cash. While there are vendors that will take cards, cash will make all of your purchases more convenient and fast. There are ATM machines on the grounds, but they charge an arm and a leg. Comic Con 2018 Tip#2: WATER. Bring all of the water you can carry. Put a few bottles in your backpack and more in the pouches on the outside of your backpack. Bring as much as you can comfortably carry. In any situation, staying hydrated is important. Standing in a sea of humanity on a hot San Diego day in the middle of July makes it even more important. Like anything in the downtown area that weekend, water will be sold, for outrageous prices. Save your money for souvenirs and bring your own water. Comic Con San Diego is coming! 16 Days until preview night! With that in mind, I would like to offer 16 tips for everyone attending the Super Bowl of Nerddom. Tip#1: The Backpack Carrying a backpack will be a lifesaver for you. Souvenirs, pens, markers, snacks, water, and more can all fit in your trusty pack. Instead of carrying a bag, all of the weight of your supplies and haul can go on your shoulders. This makes walking around the floor, to the next event, or an offsite much more convenient. Don't have a backpack? No worries. Many retailers will begin offering back to school deals right before Comic Con starts.
