almost a year and a half without tumblr. what does it mean that I’m back here now?

I’m divorced. Instead of taking the minimum 13 months it took 17. Not terrible, and I definitely came out ahead. I had a ridiculous re-entry to the dating world but then accidentally met the love of my life who I’ve now been with for almost 7 months. Almost done with my first year of being lead teacher in an NC PreK classroom.

#not me bursting into tears

Petition to place a moratorium on “celebrity” cheating scandals until I can afford professional help processing my personal cheating scandal. I’m finding repression to be a less effective strategy lately

Taking the high road can be exhausting, but luckily I’ve got this high horse I can ride

Last week there was an assembly at the elementary school where I’m doing my student teaching internship, and a nearby high school’s drumline & cheerleaders performed, and it reminded me how much I love a drum line. I live really close to a city athletic complex where some schools play football & I can hear the drums of the marching bands over the loud speakers sometimes. There are SO many colleges near me (many of which are HBCUs), so maybe I should learn the basics of football and try to date some alumni

#also if I were ever going to learn to play an instrument it’d be drums
