Obi-Wan led Anakin onto the balcony that overlooked the sprawling city below the Jedi Temple. Lush green vines curling around the stone structures, swaying gently in the high breeze. The marble floor gleamed so brightly it reflected the afternoon gold sun. Ancient pillars, held the terrace aloft like silent sentinels.
“Anakin,” Obi-Wan said, folding his hands within his sleeves, his tone measured but firm, “you will be dueling a Jedi Master. Take caution Anakin.”
“I will, Master,” Anakin replied, the tone in his voice betraying him.
She approached gracefully, her robes swaying in the wind.
Stopping a respectful distance away, she bowed to Obi-Wan.
“I am honored by this opportunity, Master Kenobi.”
Her eyes flicked briefly to Anakin before returning to Obi-Wan. A faint smile flickered on her face. “After all, Anakin is the one destined to fulfill the Chosen One prophecy… is he not?”
Anakin’s jaw clenched.
“Indeed,” Obi Wan laughed. “Though I would not be entirely surprised if he were bested today.”
Anakin’s head snapped toward him.
“I’m only joking, Anakin.”
Silence.
“Anakin has demonstrated exceptional skills,” Obi-Wan continued “No one has recorded a midi-chlorian count so high. It shall be a fair match.”
“I look forward to it.”
Obi-Wan offered a final nod to them both. “Very well. I have matters to attend to.” He turned and departed across the sunlit terrace, his presence retreating down the corridor beyond the pillars.
The moment he disappeared from view, the tension seemed to thicken.
Only the two of them remained, standing amid the extending vines and the endless sky if courscant, each measuring the other in silence.
“Stance ready.”
She drew her lightsaber.
Light snapped into existence, its crackle bouncing off the high ceiling. A heartbeat later, Anakin’s blade flared to life in answer, the vibrations weaving together in the already thick air.
“Very well.”
He moved first, recklessly. His saber pointed toward her neck.
She turned her wrist. One precise motion. The blades collided with a sharp hiss, light spilling across their faces.
Before he could recover, she lifted her free hand and released a force push. Not enough to throw him just enough to send him stumbling back a step.
His jaw tightened once again, anger flickered in his eyes.
She advanced, calm as ever, and slashed toward his arm. The training setting absorbed the impact in a flash of non lethal energy.
She pivoted, delivering yet 3 more strikes, one to each one of his limbs.
He yelped, more from his ego being shattered rather than pain.
She swung again, though this time her strike got intercepted.
Instead of retreating, he dropped low. His hands shot out, catching her legs.
They hit the hard floor together.
For a split second the world narrowed to just them. She twisted, trying to regain her position.
“Is this what you do in battle?” she grunted, straining.
She twisted sharply, rolling to the side in an attempt to break free. Anakin mirrored her, using her predictability against her. In the scramble, he shifted his weight and ended up pinning her to the stone cold floor.
She reacted first.
With a tug through the Force, she tore his lightsaber from his grip and flung it across. It clattered against the balcony rail, sliding out of reach. In the same flow, she reignited her own blade in her right hand, the blue glow re-emitting against her face once again.
She brought it down. Yet the strike never fell.
An invisible hand clamped her wrists. Anakin’s eyes burned as he pushed back with the Force, suspending her blade inches from his shoulder. With a furious motion, he snatched the hilt from her grasp.
Her lightsaber flew from her hand, spinning end over end before crashing across the balcony floor beside his.
Her eyes burnt onto him, rage filling her every ounce.
His gaze lingered on her lips for longer than it should've.
What was this?
She could feel the tension too.
In a moment their lips collided in an aggressive kiss. “Fuck-” she muffled as their tounges fought for entrance, it was like a moment of euphoria for the both of them, the urgency of it not getting in the way. It was like years of bottled up feelings released in just one moment.
He released his lips from hers. Unbuckling his utility belt and chucking it to the side, making it collide with the floor.
“Kriff- we shouldn-” . he cut her off, crashing his lips onto hers.
She felt a tingle go through her body, something was wrong. “Anakin someones coming.”

Summary: you and cal get to bogano
words: 1175 (I know short ass I’ll try get more in next chapter 🥹)
warnings: none
“You were talking in your sleep.” A pause. “Pfft. Weirdo.”
Greez’s voice cut through the haze of dreams. Cal jolted awake with a grunt, sitting upright as the Mantis hummed around him. Greez was already on his feet, lumbering back toward the cockpit without another glance.
He walked to the ship's couch, “hey” he glanced at y/n who seemed to be lost in her thoughts, “hey cal” she smiled.
His gaze drifted to the guitar-like instrument resting against the coffee table, feeling some sort of energy around it. With curiosity he picked it up, letting his fingers feel the strings before he consciously decided to play.
The melody came naturally, too naturally. Like muscle memory. Like he’d played it a hundred times before, like he's been practicing for ages, she looked at him, a hint of surprise on her face. “I wrote that song years ago” Cere approached the two, “you touch an object and witness events connected to it. You feel it’s history” . “It’s an.. echo from the force in an object.” . “Not many Jedi have that skill” .
“How would you know that?” He asked, looking back at Cere who was now sitting beside him.
“I was once a Jedi. but not anymore.” She sighed, looking down at the floor. “Do I know you?” Cal raised an eyebrow.” , “no but I knew your master Jaro Tapal. He was a true guardian of the republic.” . the words hung in the air, his hands tightening at the instrument.
“He was a hero” . He opened his mouth, for a few seconds nothing came out, he was trying to muster up the words that he couldn't find.
The air was so thick with tension it could be cut by a knife.
“I survived but.. my connection to the force is damaged” .
“When I meditate and I let my guard down I lose control it’s like I’m back in that moment bu-”
She cut him off, “you survived Cal. And you’re not alone. Not anymore.”
“We're coming up on your destination” Greez’s voice crackled through some speaker, causing Cere to head to the cockpit, “an force echo huh.” Y/n raised an eyebrow at Cal who also got up, “yeah. Do you have any abilities other than, well you know, the basics?” .She hesitated for just a fraction of a second. Force choke definitely wasn’t an option.
“Shatterpoint,” she said instead, giving a small nod. It wasn’t a lie, just something she hadn’t used in a long time.
“Handy.” cal pat her shoulder.
————
“This is Bogano,” Cere said as the ramp lowered. The three of them stepped out into thick green terrain, mist clinging tightly to the air. “A Jedi I knew discovered it before the Purge. You won’t find it on any maps.” She added.
“the empire doesn’t know this place exists?” Y/n asked, taking in the green, lightly swampy scenery, “no.” Cere smiled. “So what’s the plan we hide out here?” Cal asked, looking slightly sceptical. “We’re done hiding Cal. See that structure over there? I believe it holds the key to rebuilding the Jedi order. But it requires someone strong in the force to pass the test.”
She pointed to the acient structure in the distance.
“and since you’re not a Jedi anymore that’s why you need me, and y/n” Cal didn’t give her a chance to say anything. “I know you don’t trust me. And I’m not really sure I trust you two, but we have a common enemy and a common cause, I’ll share more of my plan after you reach the vault.” . “But until then there’s someone here I want you two to meet.” Cere turned around, making her way back inside the ship, “may the force be with you.” .
“Guess we’re looking for a Jedi then?” Cal turned to face y/n, “guess so.” . “But if there’s one here why does cere need us?” , “maybe it’s not a Jedi.” She took in more of her surroundings.
“well uh I think we should head there as it connects to more land?” She awkwardly asked, turning once more to the redhead beside her, he nodded in response. Both of them made their way straight ahead and right. The whole terrain was boggy, rightfully so to the name. “Now who would live in a place like this.” Cal looked down to where the ground extended seemingly endlessly downwards. Maker knows what could be down there.
Cal looked down, jumping slightly. A droid. “A bd droid?” Y/n cocked her eyebrow, she's seen these around the fortress. The droid emitted a noise, binary. “Hey, Bd-1.” huh Bd-1. “I’m Cal.” Bwooop “uh yeah we’re okay we’re just.. we’re looking for someone.” Bwooop? “no not you, we’re searching for, uh, a jedi.. I think.” He shrugged, looking to the side. Beep be-beep beep! “Hold on.. you know the jedi? What do you know?” Cal’s eyes lit up as he stood up. “Wait hold on!” He yelled as the droid seemed to slice something. “Lucky find.” She looked at Bd-1. “Don’t ever see many BD droids anymore.” , “Guess not” he shrugged.
A bridge appeared, Bd-1 running on forward to the island or whatever it really was above,
She stepped closer to the edge, eyeing the hanging vines trailing down the cliffside. She gave one a firm tug, testing the weight. It held, good.
“Vines’ll take us up.”
Without waiting for anything Cal would say, she grabbed on and started climbing, movements efficient and careful. Halfway up, she paused.
“Safe enough” she said, glancing down at Cal giving him a smirk before climbing upwards to where the droid was waiting, Cal joining her shortly after, with not too much hesitation.
“That's the vault Cere mentioned. Whoever we’re supposed to find must be waiting there.”
“Yeah.” she said, scanning the terrain once again.
“This way.” She pointed to the part where the land broke into wide stone steps, each ledge topped with stubborn grass yet still stretching downwards into oblivion, both of them headed in that direction, mud squelching beneath their feet.
– – – –
Finally they reached the same island as the ancient vault, “race you there?” Cal smirked, “ohhhh it's on!” she exclaimed, already shifting her weight forwards.
BD-1 was miles ahead before they started running, “Slow!” y/n shouted as she reached the start of the vault, “just wait till I get in better shape.” Cal giving her a playful shove.
They stood before the vault’s towering stone door, half-buried in moss and age. Faint lines of blue light traced through the seams, pulsing softly, as if the structure itself were alive. Cal stepped closer, feeling the quiet hum of the Force beneath the surface, calm, patient.
He placed his fingertips against the stone and closed his eyes.
The Force flowed through him, gentle but deep, Bogano felt.. peaceful, steady. Cal focused, letting the energy move, aligning himself with the vault’s intent rather than attempting forcing it open.
The stone trembled, with a deep, resonant groan, dust and vines shook loose as the massive door slowly slid upward.
