Covenant, Page 8

Goatman is Thicc. You might’ve realized that this page looks a mite different than the last 7. This is because instead of using Clip Studio, I’m using Medibang and Procreate (both on my iPad). I think this is the format I’m going to stick with, simply because my iPad is much more comfortable to draw with. The lineless speech bubbles also look a bit cleaner.

QUESTION: Does anyone feel that the text is too big? I kind of do, but I want to make sure everyone can read it. Let me know pls.

- He’s 45 years old and somehow, he’s miraculously managed to keep all of his beautiful golden locks

- His biological mother left him at a foundling hospital when he was a baby, and he was adopted by Edward and Millicent Jekyll. His dad died when he was about 20, but he maintains a close relationship with his mom (he’s a mama's boy)

- Because he’s a medical doctor in 1885, he makes a living by prescribing cocaine and weed to sick people

- Despite having graduated from med school, he’s actually a huge dumbass

- His moods are usually an even mix of sad, confused, frightened, and horny

- He really wants kids, but he doesn’t want a wife because he’s afraid of unintentionally making her miserable the same way his dad did to his mom

- He has a small red poodle named Jack

- He’s bisexual with a slight preference for men. Ideally, fit men ranging from their early 30s to late 40s, usually with broad shoulders and a full head of hair. Some silver in the hair is icing on the cake, along with a beard. When it comes to the ladies, he likes thicc gals or muscular gals; generally, just women that have a little more mass on them. He’s got a thing for thick black hair and muscular shoulders, on both women and men.

- He writes down all of his bizarre sexual fantasies in a diary, which he keeps locked up in a secret cabinet and only takes out when he’s feeling lonely. An alarming number of these fantasies involve frosted desserts and feet, and if anyone were to ever find it he’d probably commit self die right then and there

My goodness, this post is a mess. “Their species is difficult to—” To what?? Smh

What I MEANT to say was, that their species is difficult to describe in regards to sexuality and gender because they all retain the same reproductive capabilities. There’s no males and females. Windsor isn’t technically a man, but he gives himself a male body and is mainly attracted to people with male (or male-presenting) bodies. So he is gay, and he isn’t; I leave that entirely up to the reader to decide.

This species is called the Nephilim, and they’re the crown jewel of my vast collection of otherworldly beings. I’ve talked about them a little on this blog, but my friends can vouch for the fact that I ramble on and on and on about Nephilim on Discord. I’m hoping to do a long lore post about them soon 👀 but until then, if you’re interested, you can join the server linked above

So recently, @thatsmyhyde and I have been speculating on how our respective Jekylls and Hydes would get along if introduced. It’s been pretty much decided that the Slime and my Hyde would definitely get along due to their mutual horniness, and while Henry would think the Slime is a little too young for him, he’d still find him rather charming.

But then we got on the topic of Hyde and Mr. Hery here, and I think their dynamic is my absolute favorite, because it involves Hery fainting and not speaking a single word. Even though Slimey is down with my Hyde, it’s been concluded that demon Hyde is just a bit too inhuman to capture Hery’s affections, because Hery is a coward who would burst into tears of terror upon seeing him. Needless to say, Hyde would be endlessly amused by this.

Ok, so, I had an idea, kind of? I’ve tried joining a couple of art-centered Discord servers during the past few months and so far none of them have really been that great, so I was thinking of starting one up myself. Is that something people would be interested in? Maybe? 

If things go right it’ll be a super fun and supportive place for people to congregate and discuss art and writing and anything else that happens to come to mind. We can all scream about our OCs and projects and receive helpful critiques on art and writing and just make friends and be merry. I think it would be fun, because I’ve met a lot of lovely people in the art community and I’d like to make a place for all of us to gather and support each other in our creative endeavors.

These are some pretty unnecessarily extra candle holders (I imagine they’re about 4 feet tall) but I dig the design and I need more weird props to put in my backgrounds. So demonic goat candle holders it is.

I’m hoping that I’ll get to introduce more characters within the next 2-3 pages. We’re kind of off to a slow start butttt hang in there lads, things are moving along as fast as I can draw without severely injuring myself.

Yes, I did paint that nude portrait of Windsor’s “””wife””” solely so I could feature it in this page. Please note their horns and wings and tail, those are important. And please note my use of they/them pronouns, those are also important but not for the reason you might think!

Is your Jekyll design inspired by an actor or something because he kinda looks like someone I’ve seen before

Nope! When I first started designing Henry, I tried to think of the most generic semi-attractive white guy imagineable. I didn’t really have any irl people in mind.

Thank you so much for asking this question! I absolutely LOVE talking about my college/modern AU (I don’t think I’ve ever even mentioned it before, which is a huge bummer), so allow me to dump a few doodles and notes down below:

A side note, before I begin: I’m not encouraging substance abuse. I don’t think drugs are good for the mind or the body, and it’s better to just stay away. My characters are not meant to be role models and no one should look up to them. Hyde is a demon who dismembers people for fun, for Christ’s sake. Do not look up to Hyde.

- Henry and Utterson meet in college, and they’re 110% dating (and eventually married). They do yoga together and Utters even convinced Henry to go vegan.

- Henry’s inner turmoil would have less to do with sexual orientation and more to do with relationship drama. Henry is, to put it bluntly, a ho, and he has trouble with monogamy. It’s not his cup of tea. But he refuses to communicate his feelings to Utterson because communication is strictly for healthy, functioning couples.

- I imagine that Henry and Hyde’s relationship is more-or-less the same; Hyde is still a demon residing in Henry’s body, and he takes over at night to engage in all his delightful gremlin shenanigans (many of which involve a worrying amount of cocaine.)

- Henry introduces Hyde to Utterson as a “friend” who’s in need of a place to crash for a while. Hyde and Utterson’s relationship is extremely tense for a number of reasons. Utters is a neat freak who likes a clean, orderly house, and Hyde is a slob who can’t be arsed to pick up after himself because he’s high as balls 99% of the time. Utterson also isn’t a fan of Hyde’s obnoxious hobbies, including: hoarding illegal substances in the medicine cabinet, pulling strangers in and out of the apartment all night, and sleeping in Henry’s bedroom. Hyde, on the other hand, really likes Utterson. Really, really likes Utterson. To an unhealthy extent, I would say. He constantly flirts and acts super syrupy-sweet to him, which only makes Utters even more disdainful.

- Abel is an adult film actor who Henry has a really, really big crush on. He never intended to start having an affair...but unfortunately, he has no control over Hyde’s actions, and the latter was absolutely thrilled at the concept of hooking up with a hot porn star. Abel isn’t particularly fond of Hyde; he’s honestly more interested in Henry (specifically, Henry’s inheritance.)
