1AM Thoughts

I'm writing this as I'm waiting for my bath water to raise to a tolerable level(hello, its December FGS!) and thoughts of you and me and our future creep into the deep abyss of my consciousness. Will this last forever?

I think its normal to think of things like the "future" especially if you're in a relationship that you would want to last. If we live in a perfect world, everything would've been easy. Everything will go according to what was planned. Heartaches, disappointments, and hardships would've been avoided. But we live in an unperfect world and two unperfect individuals trying to make it work has a lower chance of working out than winning the lottery.

In the end, I'm comforted by the idea that we are both willing to make this work. I believe in you. I believe in us. We'll cross the bridge when we get there.

Between Star Wars and You

After waiting for months to finally see the 8th installment on the big screen of the Star Wars series, a sudden let down happened an hour just before our supposed screening. We were supposed to watch the movie along with some of our office mates when due to unforeseen circumstances, we are one ticket short. It was supposed to be our movie date but being the kind person that you are, you invited them to join us. The more the merrier. 

Our dilemma was “who would sacrifice their slot so the rest can watch without feeling guilty?” I should’ve known the answer. It’s obvious, actually. You. Being the kind person that you are, you gave your slot to our birthday girl and paid for her movie as well. 

I was questioning what happened, blaming myself, blaming others, and focusing on the negative that I fail to see then the goodness of your sacrifice. You selflessly offer your slot without any bitterness towards the others and here I am half watching / half sulking throughout the movie. 

Thank you for the lesson. It made me love you more.

Perfect

Every time I hear this song, all I can remember is that one fateful morning in your place. You were looking at Youtube and watching videos and then suddenly we stumbled upon this new song by Ed Sheeran. Just a few notes into the song, we dropped everything and just danced, more likely swayed along to the music without uttering anything. I closed my eyes then and felt contentment washed over me. That I was at the right place, at the right time. That I made the right choice. Memories flashed before me. What we went through, what we had to fight for, what we achieved just to get to where we are. It was all worth it.

Love and loved. I felt raw, undilluted love. I was loved beyond all my weaknesses and mistakes. Loved beyond measure.

I created this blog for the sole purpose of documenting our everyday life together. I plan on giving you the link to this blog on our anniversary but who knows? you might find out about it sooner or I might spill the beans prematurely because that’s who I am and I can’t really keep a good secret. HAHA!
