WHAT I USED FOR THIS PROJECT!!!
• Eva foam from hobby lobby (thin and thick)
• green paint I also found at hobby lobby
First, I got the idea,, but I needed a base. So I carefully removed the lines of hair from a wig I no longer used,, then I took a picture of my head for a reference on how big I would need to cut things and how they would look!!!! Then I put the image of my head into ibis where I could sketch over what it would look like, using the design of my poppy gajinka!!
After a couple days of planning, (and making the bracelets I’m handing out…) I started working on the wig!!!
This is what it was at first, I know, not really impressive, but I was happy with how it looked so far!! Basically at first I was using pins to hold what I had in place before I glued it to the base, still following my reference sheet.
At this point I stopped following the reference sheet and started freehanding 😭
(It took a big skip I know) basically what I did to achieve this look was glue small pieces along the base then layer them up until I liked how it looked. I had to modify them so the goggles could be slipped on and off for the painting and final product. ( I actually did end up redoing one of the sides completely. )
To achieve the ponytail on the back of their head I used some small magnets I had gotten from Amazon for another project I no longer remember. Since hot glue can’t hold magnets, I used superglue to hold them in place (and even once glued one to my finger.)
Once I had completed the base, I started painting. The most efficient way (or at least the most efficient way I found) was to paint from the inside out, so I flipped it over and started with the smaller pieces and worked my way to the outside. Once I got the first layer on, I let it dry then I touched up some spots that needed it.
This is what it looked like so far without the podge!!! After it all dried, I did the podge coat and let it dry. After that it was done!!!!
That’s how I did it!!!! If you want to do this, go ahead, just give credit!!!! You can also base it off of your own gajinka, or anything really!! It just takes materials and a LOT of patience. I worked on this for HOURS on end for days, so don’t expect it to go quickly!!! Make sure to take your time and put effort into it!!!!
