sydrian really is the most iconic young adult lit love story of all time idc

we got to know them both individidually before they even met each other and we saw how similar they were through small glances regardless of how they appeared to others and then we got a few crumbs of their first impressions of each other, then we had 6 books of their beautiful relationship developing and showing how it made them develop as individuals as well

all in all 11 books of them starting out lonely, then coincidentally finding each other, becoming friends, becoming best friends, falling in love and ending up being their best and happiest selves together
