let’s dissect byler in volume 1 cause I am losing my mind and my friends are gonna block me if i keep talking to them

first of all, I was a bit dissatisfied with the amount of scenes they have together in episodes one to three. however, this shouldn’t be a problem since no other ship got many scenes. good thing for us is, milkvan only got two scenes together which were cold as fuck and not really focused on them as a couple (i mean, they could have made them kiss but they chose to do that weird hug). also, Mike did not think about El with that protective weird think he did in season 3, which was great cause it was tiring (el can very much care for herself, I mean).

then, moving on to robin and will. I loved them, so much. I like that they kept coming back ti talking about it in different scenes when they had the time. The one in the hospital when Will asks her how she noticed that Vickie liked her like that, it sounds weird to ask that if you do not have any hopes for the person you are thinking about to like you back. continuing to the scene they had in the tunnels: that one made me lose so much hope, since she was basically comparing Mike to Tammy Thompson. However, the actual aim of that scene being bringing it back to Will when he released his powers was fantastic AND it was linked to the flashbacks. the flashbacks being fucking MIWI IM SO EXCITED GOD SORRY. So, my point, if Robin’s talk was really about him needing to get over Mike, it is weird that they linked that with a miwi scene. Also, the miwis scenes being the first ones to be shown was SOMETHING. and obviously Mike being the only part of the party to appear (though I would have loved to see the rest of the party, cause friends are just as important, but as a viewer I get that they were trying to highlight how special Mike is to Will). i lost my point btw.

moving on to the scene in the field which was honestly 2837 fucking lines of byler cocaine. Mike being concerned about Will brought us back to S2 Mike, who was there for him all the time. And then, you can’t fucking deny the fact that they were flirting. And I say it as someone who has never truly believed that Byler would be endgame and I was suspicious when I started seeing people talk about this scene as flirting. but god in hell IT WAS, the dialogue, the smiles, the way they were looking at each other and the little punch to the shoulder. and obviously then Robin clocking their asses. and i also think that if this scene were only about Will loving Mike, Robin would not have clocked it then. If it was only about Will, the most logical thing would have been to make her clock him when he was looking at Mike, but not in a scene where they are openly flirting with each other.

and this brings us to Mike, my main concern. He’s definitely worried about Will and they are a great team again AND S1/2 mike is back, wich I love. but, i would have loved to see a bit more about his POV in relation to Will, so that’s kinda throwing me off. ALSO HE LOOKED SO PROUD OF WILL WHEN THE POWER THING HAPPENED AT THE END OF EP 4.

conclusion, I guess. They have the chance to do the best slow burn ever, I hope they take it. I still don’t believe it will be canon, cause I’m a pretty negative person, but I finally saw some chances that it could be. but even if not, Im really glad that we get to have these scenes of them with each other and Will’s development regarding his feelings.

now, if any hopeful byler would like to try and get me to believe they are endgame, its more than welcome🫣
