Ryan Condal in the fuckass interview like “i’ve been a fan of asoiaf for 25 years!! it’s so disappointing that mr martian doesn’t like the direction we’re taking his story!!” my guy yall have changed so much about the damn story it doesn’t even vaguely match its original source text. you took the same characters minus one or a few and changed them completely from their book counterparts, the timeline is all the way fucked up, and half of the story isn’t even what GRRM wrote in fire and blood. he has every right to be disappointed that YET ANOTHER dumb ass show runner is running his life’s work over the sake of “creative freedom”. AGAIN.
if you’re such a fan, ryan, you wouldn’t have changed literally everything about the story. you could’ve “filled in the gaps” and still made a show that resembled its source material.
So the writers can give us a disgusting kiss between Aemond and Alicent (Condom and Mess are obsessed with Alicent being sexually humiliated and abused), but none between Baela and Jace.
Sara Hess and Ryan Condal, it's on fucking sight. I said it last season, and I say it again for this newest season.
The fact that they turned Alicent from leading green faction and having faith in her sons until the very end to her wanting not one but two of her sons dead is astounding. Not only is she very keen of giving Aegon up for slaughter, she also manipulates Aemond to go straight into death (dragonseeds were waiting by Harrenhall to ambush him, Ulf&Alys are only reason they'll leave before he gets there).
SAVE ME BOOK ALICENT! WHERE ARE YOU?
"The statue of Hera is seated on a throne; it is huge, made of gold and ivory, and is a work of Polycleitus. She is wearing a crown with Graces and Seasons worked upon it, and in one hand she carries a pomegranate and in the other a scepter. About the pomegranate I must say nothing, for its story is somewhat of a holy mystery. The presence of a cuckoo seated on the scepter they explain by the story that when Zeus was in love with Hera in her maidenhood he changed himself into this bird, and she caught it to be her pet." Pausanias 2.17.4

Cersei Lannister and her golden kitties!
Six and a half feet tall, he towered over lesser men, and when he donned his armor and the great antlered helmet of his House, he became a veritable giant. He'd had a giant's strength too, his weapon of choice a spiked iron warhammer that Ned could scarcely lift. In those days, the smell of leather and blood had clung to him like perfume. (AGOT, Ned I)

A quick rough sketch of Naerys, that I want to draw very much, but I can't find a face that I can use both for her and Dany. I know they should bear a striking physical resemblance, but they're so different in my head🫠

Jace's death being more about Baela and Rhaena than it was about him was certainly...a choice.
In the book Jace dies saving his brothers (even if Viserys disappeared,he’s still alive in Essos) but of course they changed it so now it’s not a heroic death anymore.
Goodbye prince Jacaerys Velaryon,we hardly knew you.
"The weak and feeble body of a woman". She's a dragonrider. She gave birth to five healthy sons. That's not weak. That and she grew up admiring Visenya and Nymeria. It makes no sense, why would she denigrate women now?
Not only is it a plagiarized quote, but the context is completely off. Like Elizabeth I said this before the battle of Tillbury, as a political speech to inspire her troupes to battle. Rhaenyra meanwhile is saying it while having a meltdown over how everyone is betraying her cause she's a woman.
Meanwhile, she's out here being passive, naive and reckless, willing to trust her sworn enemy more than she trusts her own advisors. But nope, it's only cause her advisors are sexists who cannot see the brilliance of her master plan.
Nvm that the only reason her proposition is even viable is because the writers lobotomized both her and Alicent and made them willing to forget the deaths of children/grandchildren, treason and usurpation just so their friendship can stay intact. Peak writing lmao.
