TEEN WOLF 3.02, Chaos Rising
One look at him, and Suze decided that watching him do some heavy lifting would be considerably appealing. But of course she wouldn't voice that, sticking her chin out in typical defiance instead. She was still fairly new in town, and wouldn’t let anybody step over her until she figured out where she fit in. “Why’s that? ‘Cause you’re a 'big, strong man'?”
Tyler hadn't realised how his comment had sounded until the stranger bit back with her sarcastic retort, but he saw the humour in it. "Well, yeah. But it's less of a man thing, and more of a werewolf thing," he corrected, raising a hand in mock surrender.

send me a ✁ with two names and i’ll tell you whom my muse would save.
“Neither. They're both total dickheads," she shrugged, crossing her arms. A beat. Then she rolled her eyes, sighing. "Fine. Tyler, I 'spose. He's slightly less of a dick. More like a vagina, really."

At his reply, Scott gave him a look that said 'fair enough'. Considering their history, he'd been expecting the attitude, though things had certainly matured between them over time. Now that they were long-established allies, the respect between the alphas was obvious, even if there were a couple of eye rolls thrown in from time to time. Scott was actually quite touched Tyler had been willing to approach him about something like this.
Noticing the change of tone, Scott stayed receptive, hearing the man out. His eyebrows raised at the reveal of Erica, but he supposed he shouldn't have been surprised, as Tyler was right. He did know who she was. "I do know her, yeah," he sighed. "She's around our age, right? Mom's spent a lot of time with her, I think." If he was right, and it was the same girl, he was pretty sure Melissa was actually quite fond of her. She hadn't shared much with him, patient confidentiality always of import in their household, but he was sure they got along. He immediately wondered if Melissa had any further insight.
"I get it, man. It's really hard." He crossed his arms. "I don't know her well, but I was sick too, before I was turned. Chronic asthma. I know what it's like to want anything but what you're stuck with." He looked down, considering what he'd been told. "Look, I think as far as reasons go... I understand hers. It's not like she wants it for the power or anything, you know? She just wants the suffering to stop." Scott knew exactly what that was like. "Look - I don't know what you've heard, but I haven't turned anyone before. But if I had to... it'd be to save their life. If that's what you're doing here, then I get it. And I back you." He met Tyler's eye with a reassuring nod. "If you've explained it all, the risks and the rewards, and she still wants it then... I say go with your gut. You know her. And if you want me to ask my mom for a little more info, I can. She might have more context, I dunno." Scott shrugged, hoping he'd been somewhat helpful, even if it hadn't been the exact tips Tyler was probably hoping for.
"Yeah, that's her." Tyler confirmed, nodding his head. Erica had been a quiet part of the rebellion for years, but he was still grateful for the confirmation that Scott knew her in spite of that. It made for an easier route to understanding. "Your mom's always there when I go to visit her. It's not my place to be grateful, but... I still am. She's pretty amazing with her." Despite the past conflict between Scott and Tyler, they'd always extended respect and admiration to eachother's mothers, that'd never been in question.
"You were?" The revelation surprised Tyler, considering how powerful Scott was now, and he couldn't find relatability in it. He'd been born a werewolf, so he hadn't suffered from any chronic illnesses, he'd have nothing to overcome. He actually considered the gene itself the curse, which is what'd caused the conflict between himself and Erica to begin with. He didn't want to extend this pain any further than it needed to go. Scott's insight was helpful, though, and Tyler knew then that he'd done right by confiding in the fellow alpha. "Wait -- you haven't? I know you don't have many actual wolves in your pack, but I thought you and Isaac... nevermind." Tyler's head tilted in confusion, but he soon decided it wasn't important. He wasn't acting Scott to turn Erica, despite how often the thought had crossed his mind. That wasn't what she'd requested, and it was his responsibility.
Tyler was unsure whether it was a dominant alpha's presence grounding him, or Scott's personality itself, but Tyler found himself inspired by the backing. Scott's reassurance gave him confidence. "Thanks, man. I appreciate it, really. But if I'm honest, I uh -- I think I already made up my mind before I came here. I care about her, y'know? I can't sit by and watch her suffer anymore." There was vulnerability in honesty, but the words still came more easily than Tyler thought they would. "I never wanted to be an alpha. Half the time I still don't want to be a wolf. But if something were to happen to her, when I could've stopped it, well... now that's on me. And that's worse than stepping up. I can't run from this forever, right?"

Jess could hardly refrain from scoffing at his comment. The only reason she was volunteering was to get possible intel on Trish, and now she had to deal with douchebags. Without answering, she went straight for the heaviest furniture, lifting the cupboard with ease. “I’ll be doing the heavy lifting, and you’ll be shutting the hell up.”
Tyler paused in his surprise, both of his eyebrows raised. She didn't smell supernatural, not by typical association anyway, so her strength had certainly caught him off guard. Either she was enhanced in a different way, or held a record for weightlifting. Tyler quickly decided he didn't care. "Whatever. Makes my day easier." He raised a single hand in mock surrender, before gesturing for her to continue.
Rose squinted at him, clearly unimpressed. “You do realise you sound like a total dick, right? Did you want a medal or something? We’re all here, Ty.”
"Oh, come on," Tyler threw his arms up, exasperated. "You know what I meant. Everyone's always complaining that I don't do enough werewolf stuff. But the first time I offer to use it, I'm a dick. 'Guess I'll just take my enhanced strength out the door, and let you all struggle."
“Do I have any… tips?” Scott frowned, incredulous. “Wait - who are we talking about here? Turning someone’s a big deal, dude. What’s happened?”
Tyler sighed, as if he'd been expecting anything else. Of course Scott would have questions, it was the first time Tyler had ever considered something like this. "I know it is. Why do you think I'm even coming to you?" Deciding it was best to drop the attitude, he then went on with his explanation, tone sobering. "It's Erica Reyes. I know you know her, considering she's always in the hospital. She has epilepsy, and the medication is making her miserable. I've already tried to talk her out of it, like, twenty times. But knowing what she knows, she'd still choose to be like us. So either I do it, I change her, or she hates me forever, and I have to live with the guilt of turning my back on a friend who asked for my help."
“No,” she replied, once they were inside, setting down some tools. “I think she’d kick your ass. But you’re tryin’ to avoid her, right?” Fiona frowned at him momentarily, confused and thoughtful. She wanted to emphasise that she had no hesitation in calling Caroline straight over should he mess around, but he’d followed through so far, and he wasn’t one of her kids. She had to reel it in. “So, why come to the one place she’d probably check in on?” Fiona asked conversationally, searching for her overalls in her bag so she could get started.
“Oh, she would.” He’d been on the receiving end of that many, many times. But as Fiona questioned him, Tyler nodded, understanding her confusion. He still got confused himself, sometimes. He explained it the best he could. “To help her. This renovation thing she’s got going on, it means everything to her. We used to date, so as you can imagine, as an ex, she gets on my last nerve. But she’s still my best friend, so I’d do anything for her if she asked.”
