What made you think you were an ENTJ when it turned out that you were actually the opposite?

Te grip + social role simplifications making me think that because i have high standards for myself and i'm not super friendly (traits i was insecure about and had been criticized for before) i must be one of the ~logical~ thinking types. there were too many memes about thinkers especially xxTJs coming across as total cunts and i identified with that. all of those traits are totally in line with dom Fi though. i didn't understand Fi, probably because most of the memes about Fi were about people wanting to be unique and victimized which i didn't.

at least i knew what functions i used though lmao. unlike the time i thought i was an ISTP which was a MESS

HELLLLOOO i am an enfp girrrrrl and i am dating an entp boyyyy,, both enneagram 7 :) we both have them spicy tRaGiC tRaUmaTiC bAcKsToRiEs,, and we both know some kind of general gist of each other’s. but the problem is that we never want to open up and instead want to focus on the good times and have fun. i understand that’s common for enneagram 7 to avoid negativity and problems or whatever... what do you think??

if you and your so simply prefer to focus on having a good time together, i do not think that is a problem. not every love story needs to involve ~healing~ or have a focus on bearing one's deepest wounds together. it is not necessary to the process of becoming close. but maybe it will be something that happens naturally if you two keep dating for a long time.

however i feel like this question may be missing some context. if your enneagram 7 fixation causes you and/or him to not be able to discuss problems in the relationship, then it is not healthy. this includes being unable to reflect upon how past trauma has shaped current behaviors that are hurting or failing to nurture the other person, or if the sources are identified and acknowledged, avoiding taking constructive action to fix those problems. if you have any examples of this happening, i can help you work through that from an ennea7 point of view.
