Arthur MacPherson (Артур Артурович Макферсон), son of Arthur MacPherson (1870-1919) - an investor, timber merchant, and sports promoter.

There is also a legend that a cursed mirror was once installed into the frame above the fireplace. The mirror was linked to a palazzo in Italy where it was placed in the room with the remains of Vlad Dracula. The mirror was brought to Saint-Petersburg in the late 19th century to this very mansion. Strange things started to happen to whomever looked into the mirror. It was later moved into storage and later lost. It is believed that the mirror is still in the mansion somewhere.
