Let Me Up! || Leo & Adonis

Adonis felt only a tad at dis-ease in seeing the young man reach farther than he should. That was clearly out of his reach… Perhaps he should have offered to retrieve it himself, in hindsight. With the sudden fall of the kite onto the other’s face, he stiffened. This was mildly off-putting to watch. After that, though, his descent seemed to be going fine. Just when he thought he could put this all behind him and go back to his notebook…

Then all went wrong. The man must have let down his guard near the very end, falling the last distance to hit the ground hard. Adonis rushed over, kneeling.

“Are you okay?!” He asked urgently, only to scold himself in his head. He might have the wind blown out of him. Talking like that was bound not to work. “Take slow breaths if you cannot breathe.” He would check for damages if needed. Ahh, now he was stressed. Seeing people get hurt was…

Leo looked up in a slight daze. He was used to falling off things, if he was being honest. While pretty agile, he still had a tendency to do things without thinking, leaving him in situations like this more often than he’d like to admit.

“ehh...” There was a moment where he processed what had just happened...but the next he was suddenly sitting up, looking to distress to the kite. 

“Ah!! Are you okay lil guy!?” he frantically looked for any damage...but sighed in relief when there wasn’t any. “Waaaaa... You scared me, haha~!” he turned to the man kneeling beside him now. “It’s okay! Crisis averted! Thanks for the lift, purple man!”

Well, being strong was not news to him, so the male didn’t quite react to the comment. Instead, he confirmed that the other had gotten his way onto the branch safely before taking a few steps backward. Was this really going to go alright?

Adonis’ skepticism slowly faded as he watched the other climb; it wasn’t quite the best method, but he seemed to have enough balance and awareness of his weight to take a safe route. His nerves lessened, but he still crossed his arms. He would be here if anything went wrong.

“…“ At least he was taking a slower pace than expected… That sort of eccentric personality begged hastiness. 

The highest safe branch ended up being just a BIT too short for him to comfortably reach the kite. Pushing himself up on his tiptoes and using the trunk as balance, he managed to snag the material with a trimmed nail, making it come down. 

“Bwah!? It attacked my face! Haha~ you wanna come home with me that badly, huh~?”

Giving a satisfied little hum, Leo started carefully climbing back down again, one hand occupied with his newly acquired play thing. That was his downfall (quite literally), however, and without the balance of a second hand, he managed to slip up on the lowest branch, letting out a yelp as he fell.

“Hmm~” He hummed, staring up at the sky as he thought for a bit. “Maybe… Ah, down the street a few blocks there is a nice hamburger place! I know that that is not pork related, but I figured it’s close enough. Besides, french fries!”

That thought was good enough to make him smile. “Is that alright with you, Leo? I forget what else you could like, I do apologize greatly.”

“Hamburgers are like ham, so that’s close enough, right!?” Leo laughed, going along with it. If there was one thing he was good at, it was just rolling with the punches. Mostly because he didn’t...care enough not to.

“Let’s go~!!!” he cheered, pushing Wataru now instead of pulling, since he DID need to be lead... “Hurry, my stomach is reaching out, it’ll come out of my mouth if we don’t quell it’s hunger!”

Learning it was his kite (incorrectly, of course) and the fact that this person was adept with climbing trees was more than enough good reason to change his mind. Allowing him to step on his hands, he waited for him to steady his weight (more or less).

Being called a steed of any kind reminded him of an unpleasant memory, but he kept it to himself after the confident declaration of retrieval. It really sounded like he knew what he was doing… Adonis lifted the other without too much effort, holding his position in as balanced a way he could until he stepped off.

“Be careful,” he reminded, not wanting to be an accomplice to injury.

Adonis was unsurprisingly sturdy as he lifted him up, and it wasn’t hard to just think of him as some sort of stepping stool. “Wow, strong!” he complimented, and as soon as he was high enough, he threw his arms up onto the lowest branch.

Luckily, it was sturdy enough to hold him, so after a few experimental pulls with his body to make sure it wasn’t going to break when he pulled himself up completely, Leo started trying to wiggle up. It wasn’t the most graceful, but it was effective, and in a moment, he was crouched on the branch.

“Aha! No tree can thwart me! The kite shall be mine!” he cheered, and started navigating the branches, careful to do a once over of the ones he was putting more than a bit of weight on at a time.

Wataru was easily dragged along, committing the trivia that Leo spoke to memory. Was that true? He would really have to check that later, because he had never even heard of that! “Oh my, I see, I never heard of such things before~! You must teach me more!”

He walked with Leo, having to bend down a little since Leo was holding onto him. “Ah, where should we go? Where is a good place to get some lunch, I wonder…?” He wasn’t really in the mood for anything in particular at the moment, so anything would probably be good.

“Teach you more? About what!? Mermaids? Or magic!? I think you’re better at that than me?? Or am I remembering wrong!” he laughed. He tended to do that. Forgetting big things about people, or little...It wasn’t his fault, really!

At the mention of WHERE, however, he was left actually pausing, which was something he didn’t do often, liking to keep on the move. Huh. 

“Aha! Thinking ahead. You’re smart, huh!” he laughed. “I don’t know anything around here! Let’s find somewhere good!”

King’s Arrival | | Izumi & Leo

Izumi tapped his fingers on the windowsill and he couldn’t even argue and that’s what drove him nuts. If he wouldn’t have looked around, Izumi would have just started putting things away wherever just to get them out of his way. Leo was a smart man, even if he was crazy. He hadn’t changed, because that whining was something he was used to, sadly.

He leaned against the window, resting his head in his hand while his fingers drummed on his cheek. What was he going to do with him? And in all honesty he didn’t know. “You could have at least left me a damn note if you were taking Knight. I thought he got out somewhere. You can have your bro time up here in the air conditioning. Also your cat tackled me and scared the shit out of me. Get up here and bring my snake back.”

He could see Leo holding his pet python closely to him, and the snake didn’t seem too bothered. But then again, it was probably the most relaxed snake he’d ever seen. He just let people pick him up and cuddle him, unlike his owner. How was he going to bribe Leo back up here? Well…there was always one thing. “I’ll give you the wifi password and get you junk food if you come back up here.” It was perfect.

Leo perked up pretty immediately at the mention of his cat, and bust out laughing, the sound loud and near vibrating as his head tilt back. It was something he was pretty used to hearing; anytime he let someone come to his house, there had always been a 90% chance that Lil’ John would crush you in some way. She had to protect her home, after all.

“Waha~ It just means she likes it here!” Leo called up, then rose his voice. “Dont you!?” 

He debated making Izumi come down after him...but he really did miss the guy, and he wanted to catch up. Besides, the wifi and junk food was a plus! Knowing Izumi, it wouldn’t be REAL junk food, but it was free, and he was ALL about that.

“Alright, Knight and I are coming up! We gotta help our grumpy sena after all~!!” he gave the snake a little kiss to the head and bolted towards the building, keeping a hold on the animal so he would be secure.

He made a noise of approval. As wild as this person was, there was some semblance of understanding that he shared, at at least. That trees were speaking quietly, in their own way. It was interesting to hear someone else talk like that, even if it came in excited bursts that felt like gushing streams at spring.

Now determined to at least help this stranger this much so as to retrieve the kite, he kneeled, putting his hands together for the other to step on. “Grab my shoulder and I’ll stand,” Adonis told him, no longer bothered that he was about to be touched roughly.

“Nice! A change of heart! The best kind!” he cheered, no hesitation as he stood on Adonis’ outstretched hands. His hands were firm on his shoulder...well one of them. The other pointed upwards.

“Onward, Noble steed! I must retrieve the kite of my dreams!” His voice was loud and determined, the kind that could make you believe just about anything he said, no matter how ridiculous.

“A wish? I didn’t think mermaids were related to genies, then again, I suppose I could be wrong~ Who knows? It’s an Amazing thought certainly.” He offered yet another smile as Leo rolled around. Leo was always very entertaining.

Pork? That was interesting, actually. He had heard that it looked like beef. “Ah~ If you’re legitimately asking for lunch, I would love to go and get some with you! Otherwise, well, you’re quite funny, Tsukinaga~” Lunch really did sound good now that he had been scared out of his skin ten thousand times.

“Yeah, lunch together is good!” he cheered easily, and looped his arms with Wataru’s so he could start pulling him. “And Mermaids grant you ONE wish, silly! Genies grant three, and there are rules!” Leo told him like it was the most obvious  thing in the world.

“Let’s go, let’s go!” He urged. Eating alone was boring, and usually a waste of time, he often forgot about it. Now that someone else was involved, however, he was much more enthusiastic, and realizing his hunger.

King’s Arrival | | Izumi & Leo

Izumi picked up the rather fat cat, setting it off him so he could stand up from getting knocked on his ass. The photographer held Leo’s cat, bringing it back to plop on the couch. He groaned, petting Little John softly as he searched around the room. When he stopped petting the cat, it followed him, and he just had to keep petting it. There were no traces of the composer anywhere, and his snake was missing too. Leo must have taken his snake for some reason. Why…well who even knew why.

Since he couldn’t find that deranged idiot anywhere, he opened the window, looking down at the courtyard. Sure enough, he saw his snake curled around the redhead in question. Izumi looked back down at the cat now waddling near his feet, and he sighed. “Little John, your owner is an idiot, hope you know that.”

Taking a deep breath, he steadied himself to yell back down at him. But what could he even say? He debated on just yelling nonsense at him until he got the picture. But then again, he had no idea what sort of mindset he was in. He’d probably think Izumi was some stranger anyway. Maybe the best course of action was just to go down there. But he really didn’t want to. So instead, he’d just keep talking until Leo eventually gave up and came back. He could hear him laughing all the way up here, and that could mean a variety of things. And he wasn’t sure which way it was yet.

“Oi, up here! First of all, why did you take my snake Leo?! You mean to tell me you’re my roommate now and you didn’t even bother unpacking your stuff! Get up here and bring Knight back or I’m coming down there and smacking you myself.”

Hearing the voice again, Leo jumped, and wasn’t sure if he was disappointed or relieved to realize it was Izumi. He held the snake closer, almost protectively, as he scrambled to his feet.

“Seeeeeenaaaaa....” he whined, just loud enough for Izumi to hear up from where he was standing at the window. “I haven’t seen knight in FOREVER, we were just having some bro time. Besides, you were out, and I was _bored_ and I don’t even know the wifi password!” 

Leo’s whining was probably something Izumi had heard a thousand times, but somehow, Leo managed to make it as obnoxious as possible every time. “And if I unpacked my stuff, you would have just gotten mad and put it away yourself anyway! I’m a genius, Sena! I know these things!”

 Was Leo pouting at him like some child? How cute. The other’s whining only cause Eichi to chuckle. It seemed like some people never change, although he was sure they all have. That nickname only brought forth more memories. Discarding those nostalgic thoughts, he only focused on what’s ahead. Right now, that would be the eccentric ginger above him.

 “Singing with the trees? That sounds like fun. Though wouldn’t it be rude to the tree then? Just because it can’t run, you’ll sing for it. The poor tree, having such misfortune put upon it.” He shook his head, faking sympathy for the plant before giving it a pat. “However, I don’t believe your voice is as bad as you claim it to be. There may be a few areas that can use some work, but overall it’s passable.”

 He may have been simply saying what was on his mind and teasing his friend a little was a small bonus. Blue hues looked back up at the green beyond that red hair. Eichi wasn’t pleased that the saw through his guise. Did his jealousy really through like that? Even if Leo did, he kept that smile in place. 

 “I will have to decline your offer. Unlike you, if I were to fall, it’s more than likely be the end of my life. Like an angel with it’s wings ripped out, I can only observe the ones who are blessed from the ground. And even if I were to accept, I don’t believe you would be able to do so~” 

Choosing to ignore the teasing, Leo laughed, his head tilting back. “Bwaha, you called yourself an angel!? So funny~ People don’t give you enough credit, you know?” Completely aware of the actual implications of his words, Leo flipped himself, using his knees to hang onto the tree as his upper half hung down. 

Completely upside down now, his hair flopped all over the place, he continued the conversation like nothing had changed. “And I’m super strong, yeah!? I’m short, but I’m still strong enough to pull you up! You’re like, super light! Or you were...?”

“Did you gain weight, Tenshi?” His hands reached down, flopped and dangling from his current position, and he pinched at Eichi’s body, trying to somehow feel if there was more fat than there had been.

Leo received his weight without complaining, soon forgetting about his threat to make him dance. That was good. It’d be even better if he didn’t had to hear Leo’s obnoxiously loud voice right besides his ear. 

Dear lord, wasn’t a way of shutting him up for just a bit. And now Leo was starting to lean back in some sort of game Ritsu haven’t quite agreed with. So Ritsu started to purposefully push his weight even more into the other.

     “You want me to… melt you?”

How could he do that? He didn’t had any water with him either. He wasn’t Secchan to carry around a bottle of water at all places. Well, nothing risked nothing gained, right? Tilting his head a bit, he gave a small lick at the leader’s cheek.

It was… kind of like water, right?

He wasn’t expecting any actual kind of water on him, but he mentally praised Ritsu at his quick thinking. “Wuaaaah, i’m meeeelting....” he started to pretend melt, sinking to the ground with Ritsu still flopped over on him. 

“Aha, just kidding~! Could you imagine!? Me, the genius, with an obituary explaining my death was by spit!?” Another laugh left his lips.

The two of them were on the ground now, thanks to Leo’s antics, and he pat the top of his friend’s head. “Good boy, good boy!” he praised easily. “That’s quick thinking! Is Rittsu a genius too!?”

Was he for real? Ritsu blinked slowly, not even sure how to deal with the eccentricities of the ginger. 

    “That’s not… how classes work”

Not like the King would actually care about that, completely ignoring whatever logic was and now presenting the idea of having Ritsu dance with him. Before he could actually excuse himself, hands reached for his own and pulled him to his feet. A tired sigh, he moved even forward, now letting the whole weight of his body fall over the smaller ginger.

     “… the sun is too bright for dancing… I’ll melt Ou-sama”

Leo staggered a bit under Ritsu’s weight, not expecting the sudden addition, but luckily, he didn’t fall. 

“Woah~! Rittsu’s heavier than he looks~” He cheered, like it was a good thing he was holding up his friend. “But that sounds fun~! I’ve never been melted before~!!? Think I’ll survive?? Let’s try it! Melt me, Rittsu! Melt me!” 

The red head began to wilt beneath the weight on purpose, making mock bubble sounds. “Wuah, use some water maybe!? I’ll be like the wicked witch from wizard of oz~!”
