A useful thing to do if you're worried about censorship and library shutdowns
and have some free computer space and bandwidth: seed some shadow archive torrents.
Many of the documents in these archives are out-of-print and unlikely ever to be republished "legally". One person seeding a library torrent can make a huge difference to hundreds without access to libraries.
Steps:
Install qBittorrent. (Warning: Versions over 4.6.7 may choke on some larger torrents.)
Go to https://annas-archive.gl/torrents, scroll down, and click the "Generate" button shown below:
It'll give you a list of magnet links for torrents that need more seeders, which will look like this:
4. Add one or more of these links to qBittorrent by clicking the "Add Torrent Link" button,
pasting the links into the box,
and hit the "Download" button.
Once the torrent finishes downloading to your own computer, other people will, in turn, be able to download it from you. If you find it slowing your internet/computer down too much, you can go into the Tools -> Preferences menu to adjust how much bandwidth it's permitted to use.
