[POV] your boyfriend is an assassin - ch 84

“What color?” The barber bent down to show him an array of bottles, and something possessed Noah to touch the green one. It looked cool.

He closed his eyes when wet hair fell across his brow, and it was snipped away. 

His hair had gotten long over the last few months. 

He never got it cut after arriving at the adoption center.

When he opened his eyes, he could barely believe he was looking at his own face.

Someone with round eyes and dark green hair looked back at him. A stranger? 

…No.

That was…Noah Kaiba.

“Like it?” The barber handed him a mirror and looked really anxious. “You hate it? Tell Uncle right now. I can re-dye it or shave your head. You pick.” He cracked a smile and hoped the kid would smile at his joke since it always worked, but the kid blinked coldly at him and said, “If you shave my head, I’ll cut you with your own scissors.”

Yami laughed even though he knew he shouldn’t, and he waved the two swords he was carrying in the toy store’s bag. 

“He’s got an imagination,” Yami said, and the barber gave him an anxious smile before leaning back down to check on Noah again.

Noah handed the mirror back with a shrug. “I’m fine with it. If you think it looks good, then it does.” He wasn’t a barber and he didn’t really care as long as his hair was considered ‘fixed’ now. If his face was pretty, he could pull off anything.

I’m the worm, Noah squared his shoulders back and hated the scratchy collar of his shirt. He would find a way to live happily with his new adopted family.

Mr. Dartz informed him his parents were given a chance to ‘review the footage’.

He didn’t get a visit from his parents after that. Mr. Dartz came back to say his parents held firm on the disownment. Oh well.

Mr. Spiky’s story is true about the worm finding a new family, Noah sighed and fidgeted, recalling how when he’d asked Mr. Dartz, “Seto who?” The reply he got was, “Seto none of your business. Common name. Forget about the distractions and focus on freedom. 10 is much too young to be behind bars for life.”

He did that. Because Mr. Spiky hitman said to do what the lawyer said. 

Now he itched all over to find Mr. Spiky.

Dartz walked up the steps of the hospital with his briefcase in hand, and his ID in the other.

Right as he got to the sliding doors, he froze when he saw a spiky-haired shadow waiting for him against the wall, and his first instinct was to turn and run. 

Atem. Out in the wild.

“Go home,” Dartz muttered as he walked right into the hospital and hated how the assassin followed him boldly in through the hospital doors, wearing a pair of glasses to go with the stiff black suit and navy blue tie, carrying a file envelope under his arm while wearing a badge around his neck, looking also like a lawyer. 

That was annoying.

Did he even want to see what was on Atem’s fake badge? ... ... .....

Underwater Chrysalis - ch 92

Seto sat atop the rock where a slight indent had been made over the years, listening to the waves crash up against the sides, giving him a sense of overwhelming calm while he reflected.

Mokuba was right.

His life was pretty great.

This was what it felt like to want for nothing.

He thought Pegasus would give him more hell, but apparently not.

Atem listened to the thoughts drifting down from above while he stayed quietly submerged, waiting for the right time to pop up. For nostalgia’s sake, he hoped Seto would be ranting about missing him for moons, but Seto was quietly thinking about work.

Think about seeing me! Atem cried silently as he hung onto the edge of the rock, staring into the dark cavern carved into it with the metal hooks still in place. Nothing about this rock had changed in all their decades together.

Impressive.

Great. His brain was fucked. He was only sleeping for a few hours at a time because he was traumatized.

Yami was fast asleep in the bed beside him, so Seto gently snuck out of bed to sit down behind his desk, waking up his laptop with a few taps to re-access the dark site to see if his post got any traction, and to his annoyance, his post got deleted.

Furious, Seto backed out of the ‘General’ section to complain at a moderator, but paused when he saw a completely new thread had been made, titled, “K@!51A’s ARK–HE IS HERE” That made his heart skip a solid beat in terror. 

WHY were they continuously calling him out?!

Mai sat down in the nearest leather barstool and wondered if any of the food was safe to eat. “What's not poisoned?”

Yami smiled weakly and pointed at each of the dishes.

“Seto made the beef fried rice, while Vivian and I both watched. It’s safe to eat. Vivian made the salads and was strip-searched by me personally in the bathroom before she touched any food, and I made the shredded roast chicken.”

Geez, Mai rolled her eyes and reached for the chicken. Not eating anything made by the other actual murderers. At least she knew Atem was out of commission, but Vivian and Seto Kaiba wanted to kill each other.
