genshinsona! they are done. really struggled with their lore, but here's what i have so far

somewhere in the cosmos existed a small pale planet, about the size of a larger country, which eventually got destroyed by the abyss. the residents knew what was coming, so in an effort to preserve information about the planet, they created an organic being that would carry this knowledge within them, and named the being melunotri.

when the abyss finally came to devour, melunotri escaped through corridor that recently appeared on the planet, on the other side lay the spiral tower. melunotri entered teyvat through the spiral abyss, but they got dragged into the void realm almost as soon as they were out.

there, they spent who knows how long, slowly getting consumed by the abyss. they never fully gave in, eventually being able to think somewhat clearly despite the corruption. melunotri wandered the void realm in search of an exit.

on their way they encountered skirk. multiple times. this led to her reluctantly teaching them the basics of abyssal energy control and how to get in and out of teyvat through the abyss.

now that they can make an exit for themself, they leave and appear on hiisi island. at first, they observe the environment around them, since they've been heavily tainted by the abyss and can't touch anything without poisoning it. kuuvahki was a major point of interest for them – it felt like something warm and soft that was able to calm the corruption inside them.

^ this is when they notice columbina one day. she is full of that stuff, so naturally, melunotri was drawn to her. they tailed her whenever they could, until columbina forced an interaction. the mood was tense at the start on columbina's side, light and void were opposite energies after all, but overtime through repeated encounters she warmed up to them.

columbina shares kuuvahki with melunotri and they soak in it to the point of gaining a moon wheel. it acts as a sort of protective layer for melunotri, allowing them to interact with the world as a normal person would.

the abyssal corrosion on their chest is always there no matter what they wear, but their body contains it just fine, so it's not dangerous to touch. the black fade ins on their limbs are a natural part of them unrelated to the abyss.

this is VERY basic and i skipped over a lot of details, but i just wanted to give a basic rundown to anyone who is interested enough to read. lumine comes in later i promise 🙏
