- Patton's hugs vary depending on the circumstance. When intended as a comfort, the hug is gentle and fatherly. He likes to wrap his arms completely around me, resulting in an enveloping warmth. Excited hugs are more overbearing and enthusiastic, though no less cozy.
Rating: 9/10, sometimes he can squeeze a bit too hard.
- These hugs tend to be surprises. Roman almost never warns people beforehand; he prefers to tackle or wrestle me into a hug when I least expect it. This was jarring the first few times but I have grown to appreciate it. He likes to ruffle my hair in the process. His hugs are very firm and warm.
Rating: 8/10, could last a bit longer.
- Virgil's hugs are rare but extremely enjoyable. He is less warm, but shockingly strong. His hugs always have the option of pulling away, which I never take advantage of. He allows me to press my face into his shoulder.
Rating: 9/10, the height difference encourages him to make fun of me.
- Much, much more comforting than I had initially expected. He is very hesitant about offering hugs but it is clear he has some expertise in the area. His hugs include a pat on the back or other various little soothing touches. Very motherly.
Rating: 8/10, only because unfortunately he only hugs me when I'm in distress.
- Similarly to Roman, Remus likes to surprise me. He has no qualms about tackling me to the floor in order to hug me. His hugs tend to be loose, as if he expects me to yank away from him. For this reason I never refuse a hug from Remus.
Rating: 7/10, he never washes his clothes unless Janus insists.
- Thomas is very casual about hugs, which I appreciate. He always asks permission and keeps them friendly, I suppose for my benefit. I should explain to him that I don't need to be handled with care.
Rating: 8/10, familiar though not as tight as I would prefer.
- Patton and Roman initiate these. Virgil typically ends up on one side of me, with Remus or Roman on the other. Janus uses all of his arms. I usually am in the center where I can curl into Patton's chest, surrounded by the others. I did not cry, nor did I begin to tearfully tell them how much I loved them.
Rating: 10/10. The perfect hug.
I have concluded that hugs are beneficial to our happiness and overall wellbeing. However, these compiled results are incomplete and may require further testing. The others seemed quite receptive to the notion when I informed them, however they did all exchange a glance with one another, to which the meaning of the action I remain quite not privy. Regardless, I am very grateful for their continued participation.
