Hi, Vera! Thanks for talking to us today. How’s the tour been so far?
Hey! Oh my God, tour has been rad so far. I’m loving the arena tour! It’s so sick. We’re touring with No One’s Watching and that’s cool because we all get along. The prank wars are always at an all-time high, so like, you need to be careful around here. There’s always something going on. It’s awesome.
Has there been a city that you’ve stopped in so far that you’d call your favorite?
Oh, that’s so hard! I haven’t been to a lot of cities up until this tour, so honestly, every new city has been my favorite. I can’t pick! I’m so indecisive.
How different is it going from playing small theater venues and festivals to something as incredible as an arena tour?
Small theater venues and festivals are kind of, like, more intimate, in a way? Like, after the shows, we’d usually be able to run into fans or kick it with them at festivals, but it’s so much harder now! The crowds are bigger and it’s seriously so sick to witness. I love how much we’ve grown!
Do you miss home a lot on the road?
Oh, totally. It’s so hard sometimes because I’m pretty attached to my family, but I love what I’m doing, and my bandmates are awesome, so they make it easier if I get homesick. They’re my rocks.
What’s your biggest inspiration when it comes to songwriting?
Um, just things that happen in real life, honestly. I always draw a little bit of inspiration from stuff that goes on in my personal life or when I listen to my friends telling me stories.
I’ve seen a bit of hate on Twitter sometimes– tell us, how do you deal with it?
Can I just make a quick public PSA that bullying isn’t cool? Like, seriously, some people need to quit it with that. Go outside, breathe some fresh air, and stop being rude to people! Anyway, uh, I kind of have a problem with holding back if I see someone being way too rude and disrespectful to me or one of my friends. If you don’t want me to outwit you, don’t send hate. Simple, babes.
If you could go back, would you ever stop yourself from becoming famous?
No way! Oh my God!
How’s the love life going? Got your eye on anyone special?
Nah, I’m chillin’. I’m only focusing on the band and the music. That’s the priority, man.
What’s it like touring with No One’s Watching by your side?
They’re so chill. I love them. We all get along, so it’s cool to just kick it and vibe with them. It’s sick that we’re all friends. I think that’s rare, you know?
You gotta tell us who the biggest pranksters are.
Me, obviously! Well, me and Regan. He’s the only one who can give me a run for my money.
What kind of pranks have been pulled so far?
Oh man, way too many! My personal favorite was when I put saran wrap in front of the door, like I literally covered it, and it’s transparent, right? So, no one saw it, and I forgot who it was, but someone walked into the trap, and I was crying from laughter. It was too funny, man. You had to see it!
Can we expect any collabs from you guys soon? Or new music in general?
You’ll have to keep your ears peeled! You get no secret deets from me, guys.
What do you think about the fans ‘shipping’ all you guys?
Oh man, it’s hilarious. The stuff the fans come up with are amazing. I see so many edits when people mention it to me on Twitter or when they show me in person. It’s ridiculous how talented these guys are with all of this. Have you heard some of the ship names? I think one of mine is Vegan? That’s so funny!
If Panorama and No One’s Watching were in the Hunger Games, who do you think would win? Who would get killed off right away?
Uh, I’m totally standing by my band and saying that we’d win it. Someone from Panorama would totally take the gold. [Jokingly, she points to herself, grinning.]
Thanks for talking to us for a bit, Vera. We wish you luck with the rest of the tour!
Thank you! I hope to see you at our shows! Have a nice day!
