Creative choices: over the last couple of years, I've noticed people copying my designs, writing, and alternative face claims for the same muses (very specific choices, I might add, because I like being in my own lane and don't care to look like everyone else). it's high-key corny, especially when some of the same mutuals sit on my blog. this happened one too many times, but all i can say is ya'll need to develop your individuality and stop the nonsense.

mutuality "contract": if we're mutuals, great! do not attempt to force me to write with one of your muses, oc or canon, if you're a multi-muse blog. if i choose to interact with a particular muse(s) you have, it is not because your other muses are necessarily uninteresting; it just means you have a muse that holds my attention and i want to direct my energy with.

drama: i just want to point this one thing out: it is very obvious when people send themselves anon hate. tactics like that, just to garner attention? just rile people up and set off a domino effect and now everyone in the fandom is responding to vitriol that you send yourself? i despise it. i do have "ooc" tag filtered, but to know that you're setting yourself and people up when they should be enjoying the hobby aggravates me, and I'll unfollow you. if it is organic anon hate.. well, i can't tell you how to run your blog, but my suggestion is to delete it and move on?

black muses: in the past, i've been biased against non-black writers writing black muses, because of the lack of respect that gets shown toward their characterization, and it was an old rule of mine, that i will not follow a sole black muse blog [if it's multi, then i would prefer to interact with the non-black muses.], if the writers weren't black themselves. i still have those biases, but i will take my chances on people if the portrayals seems promising. it's a case-by-case basis, i'm not interested in delving in any further than that.

update 3/10: real talk, there's two things specific things that's been irritating to me. 1) ya'll need to look into what colorism is. 2) the fetishization of black muses be killing me. i'm tired of weird ass portrayals on here. all shade, because the community is very small, so there's no need to really ask me who. ya'll know who. get it together.

ooc interactions: discord is available, but i am a slow responder at times. i'm hesitant on this as of recently because people show weird energy, but we'll see.

my general rule of thumb: you are the master curators of your own safe space. do what thou wilt. if the aforementioned themes aren’t to your liking, I am not the writer for you. if you cannot stand the thought of being unable to tone police a thirty-year-old man, i will never be the ideal writing partner for you. if low-activity blogs do not suit your preferences, please feel free to block me.

i have no personal issues with anyone, so do not inquire about me to a mutual or personally contact me regarding what you may perceive as '"beef". the only beef i have is with people who perpetuate what i already established above.

i like slipping in what a character chooses not to engage with. what they ignore, step past, or leave unanswered usually says more than what they actually say.

especially with characters like t’challa. i’ve had writing partners try to provoke him or pull a reaction out of him, and he’ll either stay composed, recognize the game being played, and let their muse sit in it. he doesn’t always give people the response they’re looking for.

but at the same time, i do enjoy moments where someone pushes far enough under the right conditions and he actually responds. it just has to feel earned. t'challa won't think it's worth it if they act like a petulant child.

have you ever made a playlist for a single scene?

i haven't made one. but i listen to certain songs while writing scenes. it depends on what it is.

what’s your guilty pleasure genre to write in rp?

power dynamics and slow-burn tension, especially when it’s tied into politics, control, or messy loyalties. with t’challa in particular, i also enjoy writing romance.

there’s a popular idea that t’challa is purely stoic, almost batman-like, but that’s not really accurate. he's not batman. he has been stoic at times, especially when circumstances forced him into that position, but that’s not the full picture of who he is.

for example, in doomwar, he had to emotionally distance himself because doom had the wakandan palace under surveillance through their food and water. he couldn’t afford to be open, even with the people he loved, while figuring out how to win without his powers.

and in christopher priest’s run, a big part of his arc is that he had lost his joy and softness. regaining that humanity is tied directly to him becoming whole again, both as a king and as a person. he spoke to a future version of himself that died of an unknown illness, and his former lovers, monica and storm, respectively.

i don’t think it’s about choosing between the strategist and the compassionate man. both exist at the same time. he can be calculating and still be someone who loves deeply. i’m just not interested in writing him as emotionally closed off all the time. i prefer leaning into his warmth, his romance, and his ability to care without it making him any less formidable.

i’d say sinners, lovecraft country, watchmen, the changeling, south of midnight, bitter root, etc. they all tap into things i’ve been interested in writing about since i was a teenager—racecraft, black love, the supernatural, thriller, horror, and cultural elements tied to my own background.

seeing those ideas actually executed in different forms of media helped me understand how i want to approach them in my own writing. it gave shape to things i already had in mind and showed me how far i could push them.

what’s your biggest muse-killer?

rpc adopts very police-like behavior when it comes to certain muses, and fandoms, but that being said... i don't like woobified portrayals of villains or muses that committed atrocities, held problematic beliefs, or had controversial dialogue within the canon. i think people should get comfortable writing RP fights again, because there are muses where it'll be on-sight, no matter what you do. (e.g., if i'm writing mother's milk from the boys and interacting with a soldier boy/homelander and they're AU... considering how impacted mother's milk story was by them.. i shouldn't have to skirt around real issues because the mun wants to downplay the racism because it's an 'uncomfortable' facet of their muse). overall, i hate niceness.

racially passive-aggressive behavior, especially when it shows up ic but clearly comes from ooc bias. i can tell when a character is being written with underlying discomfort or resentment toward intelligent black muses, and it pulls me out immediately. i’m not interested in writing through microaggressions, coded language, or dynamics where my muse is being subtly undermined or reduced. it stops being collaborative and starts feeling like i’m managing someone else’s bias.

when it stops feeling like i’m writing with the muse and starts feeling like i’m writing with the mun. if replies start reflecting personal takes, control issues, or out-of-character interference instead of the character’s actual voice and logic, it breaks the immersion. i lose interest when the interaction feels like negotiation or projection instead of two characters moving naturally within the scene. with oc's, this becomes more egregious because if the muses are shipped and grievances are expressed through the character voice, i want to back away from the mun. after all, there's ooc emotion in the mix, and when I write i only care about what the characters are feeling, not talking to the mun through the character.

and writing while intoxicated. i don't romanticize drugs and alcohol use and sometimes when i talk to people while under the influence, it's kinda... annoying. not to mention, i had an experience when i was role-playing with somebody in the past, and their muse became uncharacteristically racist. that night, they kept telling the dash they were drunk lmao.

honestly, i wouldn’t know unless someone pointed it out to me. people pick up on different things, so i can’t really say what stands out to them.

what i do know is what i aim for. i lean into metaphors and similes, and i like slipping in small pieces of real-world history when it fits. i pay a lot of attention to atmosphere. i try to make the setting feel lived-in, like it exists beyond the characters, without turning it into unnecessary exposition.

everything i write is really about what feels right for me and whoever i’m writing with in that moment.
