Headcanon time!
Sam may not show it a whole lot, or let on in any way shape or form -- but he really loves the pack. He truly does, he may seem harsh or overly broody and cynical -- but he loves them with all his heart. He wants them to be the best and have the best no matter what, and with this being said it still extends to Jacob and his pack. Sam has no ill feelings against those that chose to follow Jacob, nor does he hate or resent Jacob for taking his rightful place as the born alpha. Hell Sam never wanted to be a shifter in the first place, he took the role of alpha by obligation and he knew that if he was to turn others would soon follow. Now with that said Sam still loves Jacob -- even if they butt heads and disagree, Sam loves Quil and Embry, Leah and Seth -- he would lay down his life for all of them without hesitation because they are so important to him. This also goes for any of the pack's imprints, Sam will lay down his life for anyone in his pack and anyone associated. Thats the thing about Sam, he may not look or act like a hero or believe he is one -- but he would gladly sacrifice himself like one to ensure the safety and happiness of those around him.
Send me the names of two characters and I'll tell you which one my muse would rather date.
“Am I going to be okay?”
he’s cautious. ever the careful not to pry too deep into anyone else’s problems, he carried enough on his conscious from his own pack. yet there is something about her, about the way her eyes flicker to him and her voice is unsure. it’s a question he can’t possibly answer, but somewhere deep in his chest he feels obligated to try. footsteps are gentle as he draws closer, tall frame crouching down at her side. gaze even with her own there is something set in his eyes, something promising and warm. “ yeah. yeah, you are.” his voice is softer and brighter, different from his usual growl – but it’s honest. a calloused palm draws forth the rag from his back pocket, its splatter stained fabric worn and tired as he gently extends it to her. voice careful and calm, “ you’re gonna be just fine. now c’mon – let’s get you fixed up.”
“Am I going to be okay?” bless
his hands are gentle as one smooths over her hair, drawing the thick curtain back from her face. in truth he couldn’t give her an answer, whether she would be fine – or even remotely alright…it wasn't up to him. yet the familiarity of this scene plagued his heart, weighing it down to knock against his ribs and fall to his stomach. how many times had he spent as a child brushing his mother’s hair out of her face, his thumb to wipe away tears until one day they stopped coming. how he had to watch her slowly detach herself from whatever memories clung to her shoulders and made her break, it seemed to have its own effect on him. his lips part carefully a sigh soft and inaudible breaking free as his chest sinks, words halted on his tongue as he shakes his head. “ you’re going to be fine. “ he remarks words gentle, a calloused hand coming to rest along the base of her neck as he draws her into him. it was odd, it always had been to him – how at times he stepped outside himself when this instinctive sense took over. that some part of him, even if he weren’t as in touch with it still knew how to comfort someone. he’s softer spoken now, voice low and reassuring. “ you’re a lot stronger than you think you are gabby. “
