I tried something new with the rendering style here, and I think it really fit the vibe of the piece, so I'm happy :D
I love my best friend more than words can describe. Just calling her my "best friend" does a disservice to how long I've known her and how important of a person she is to me.
I've talked about this with her, how I see her as my other half, and she agrees completely so this isn't me being a delusional weirdo.
She is the biggest light of my life, the one constant. Throughout the years we've known each other, no other friendship I've had has been so life-changing and important to me. I've known her for almost 15 years and I cannot put into words how much she means to me. How much I love her. Just thinking about her and our history together makes me want to cry tears of joy. It's just such a special bond I have with her. Especially knowing how many people go through different friendships in life, how many people never find that one person.
I'm not spiritual or religious, but I believe everyone has a "platonic soulmate" the one person who just matches you perfectly in every way. The one who gets you and understands you and loves you for who you are. That's us. That's how I feel about her. The word "soulmate" is used often to describe romantic relationships, but I think it also applies to friendships as well. How else am I able to describe her?
I think its so hard to put into perspective how she is my person. How I am hers. Theres no other person like her. She has carved herself a place in my soul, in every universe, every timeline, every reincarnation, every lifetime, I think I am meant to find her. My soul has an indent that is shaped just like her and every iteration of us, we are meant to find each other and fill it. I would not be who I am today without her.

Sometimes I think about an old internet friend I had when I was like 13. They were a good friend. I met them through a homestuck roleplay website (luhmao) and we shared our tumblr blogs and would message each other. But one day I got hella grounded and wasn't able to say goodbye to my internet friend. So sometimes I think about them and how they must've felt very confused about why I ghosted them. Then years later, I remember them again and I look up their tumblr and I get so nervous that I ended up blocking them. I was so scared of them realizing I'm back. But now I'm 22, I want to message them again and ask if they remember me. But that little kid inside of me is still scared.
Right after posting this, I decided to find them again and unblock them. Their blog hasn't been active in about a year, but maybe if they come back one day, they'll see that our messages from 2016 are available to read. Idk if I should reach out at all? Would that be awkward?
I'm looking back at our convos and WOW am I autistic. Like...incredibly autistic.

Going from AO3 to Wattpad to look for fics is like genuine whiplash. I go on AO3, see wonderfully written fics with a lot of effort and passion put into them by experienced authors. Then immediately go to wattpad and see (x reader) or (x Oc) probably all written by 14 year old girls for their very first fanfic.
Now that isn't to diss on the 14 year old fic writers, go girl!!! You write those fics!!! You enjoy yourself and go write everything your little heart desires!!!
I will not be reading them, but I won't stop you from writing them. I am cringe but I am free, so are you bestie.

Little reminder that presidents appoint Supreme Court justices. So remember in 2016 when tumblr was all “Harambe” and sharing that picture of Hillary Clinton in her dorm with a confederate flag blatantly photoshopped into it? Remember that? I do. Anyway Trump got to appoint three (3) supreme court justices—one a crazy christian mommy with no court experience and one a beer-obsessed probable rapist. And now the court is about to overturn Roe v. Wade.
So maybe this year instead of being edgy and nihilistic, you’ll make sure to vote in the midterms so we can keep a Democratic majority in Congress. It’s the very, very least any of us can do.
By the way if they overturn Roe they can overturn a bunch of other decisions too. Get ready.
