"the imaginary or hypothetical harm that we believe a black person to be capable of enacting will always be less socially acceptable than the harm we know for a fact white people materially cause" the movie.
Everyone go read the house in the cerulean sea and then the sequel somewhere beyond the sea it needs a bigger fandom. Perfect if you like good omens, our flag means death, queer romance, and the found family trope (and if you hate jk rowling).
“We should always make time for the things we like. If we don't, we might forget how to be happy.”
— The House on the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune
Redraw of a fanart I made 6 years ago ♥ (link) I recently read again this cozy and lovely book and fell in love with it and its characters all over again
supergirl was fucking amazing i don't know what people were nothing about
Supergirl was fun. it has problems and i dislike the changes to Kara's age and timeline of arrival, but overall it was a fun superhero romp which is all these movies actually have to be. i don't understand the hate and frankly it does sound mostly like misogyny to me at this point
Lets end mansplaining why did an adult ahh man in the theatre say to his gf very loudly in an emotional silent moment in the movie where the main character was screaming and crying ‘its cause you cant hear in space’… broski i think she knew
This isn’t my usual content and I don’t usually like talking about things I don’t like (I try to curate a page dedicated to enjoying things I do like because there is more than enough criticism online already) but if people don’t stop being hyper-critical of Supergirl and shitting on Milly Alcock’s appearance (for NO REASON, mind you. She is absolutely stunning) I’m going to absolutely lose it. Films receiving criticism is one thing, but most of these takes are in bad faith and many people went in primed to hate it and nitpick everything about it and it’s really getting exhausting. I’m going to keep trying to filter out all the hate and only put positive posts on this blog, but I loved the movie and it’s so disheartening to see people brushing it off when it doesn’t deserve nearly this much hate. Fucking Morbius didn’t get this much hate. It’s annoying
the new supergirl movie was so good, I can't wait to rewatch it!
Finally, a "jaded alcoholic man whose loved ones are all dead avenges his dog" movie where the man's a woman and the dog doesn't die.
Call me! Call me any, any time
Can I say it? What was the point of Lobo in that movie?
The makeup was shit and he had absolutely zero reason for being there. They could have made the movie without him and it would have been exactly the same plot EXCEPT BETTER! He pulled me out of every single scene I watched.
(They continue to believe movies without a male lead can’t stand on their own and it will be their downfall)
I genuinely don’t understand all the hate for supergirl? Was it the best superhero I’ve ever watched? No. Did it have some things I didn’t like? Yes absolutely. But was it a good superhero movie? Also absolutely!
Also Milly Alcock was phenomenal and I can’t wait to see more of her. Definitely made the movie.
I’m not saying that disliking Supergirl (2026) means being misogynistic. I’m just saying that of fucking course the film about a woman who loses her shit, becomes a hero because her dog is dying, and ends up saving dozens of women and girls who were bought to be (child) brides is heavily criticized.
I just saw Supergirl and really liked it (7/10) but
SPOILERSSSSSSSSSSSSS:
"Shane wouldn't be comfortable around very queer people" "Shane doesn't find kinship with the gays"
I respect your opinion but you cannot tell me that man wouldn't be immediately comfortable in a group of jocky lesbians who probably also eat his fucking quinoa
