An SJW took my dog and put him in a sociology class and now he wants to form a union in my own house
Courtney Demone is a trans woman currently undergoing hormone replacement therapy and, as such, is starting to grow breasts.
Given this opportunity, she has a found a brilliant way to #FreeTheNipple.
Demone is launching the hashtag #DoIHaveBoobsNow and will post topless images of herself on Facebook and Instagram, “until those networks decide that my breasts have developed enough to be sexualized and worthy of censorship”
Demone is exposing privilege and hypocrisy all at one.
The salt inherent in this is delicious and makes my heart soar.
Love
lilith was created before eve from the same soil as adam to be his wife
she refused to lay beneath him, wishing to be his equal, only willing to have sex with him if she was on his side or on top
adam tried to force her to have sex with him the way he wanted, so she left him and became a demon…
…go off
i mean we could talk about how lilith was a badass who’d rather be a demon than be subservient to a man or we could talk about the allegory here where a woman who demands agency is LITERALLY demonized… or the reality that this story means that the first man in the bible (or the first man ever, if you subscribe to that) was a rapist! great start, boys
this is so important.
I wonder how different shit would be if Adam attempting to rape Lilith was the “original sin” instead of Eve eating the apple.
lilith is mentioned very vaguely in the actual hebrew bible and its complicated bc “lilit” (or “liliyyot”) can be translated as “night creatures”, “night monster”, “night hag”, or “screech owl”, and is found in isaiah only in a list of animals
lilith as a kind of demon is probably derived from an earlier class of female demons in mesopotamian religion but we are not sure. in the dead sea scrolls there is only one mention: “I, the Instructor, proclaim His glorious splendour so as to frighten and to te[rrify] all the spirits of the destroying angels, spirits of the bastards, demons, Lilith, howlers, and [desert dwellers…] and those which fall upon men without warning to lead them astray […]”
lilith is mentioned in the babylonian talmud like 3 times mostly just … various rabbis making shit up but notably theres a bit about how “HE WHO SLEEPS ALONE AT NIGHT WELCOMES LILITH” which is probably a reference to ~nocturnal emissions ~ birthing demons lol. from this we have an anecdote from R. Jeremiah b. Eleazar: “In all those years [130 years after his expulsion from the Garden of Eden] during which Adam was under the ban he begot ghosts and male demons and female demons [or night demons], for it is said in Scripture: And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years and begot a son in own likeness, after his own image, from which it follows that until that time he did not beget after his own image… When he saw that through him death was ordained as punishment he spent a hundred and thirty years in fasting, severed connection with his wife for a hundred and thirty years, and wore clothes of fig on his body for a hundred and thirty years. – That statement [of R. Jeremiah] was made in reference to the semen which he emitted accidentally.” (Babylonian Talmud on Tractate Eruvin 18b) so we have some stuff that’s supposed to warn men off having wet dreams basically (i guess, i am not actually that educated on talmudic historical context!)
the idea that lilith was adam’s first wife comes exclusively from “The alphabet of ben Sirach”, an anonymous medieval text which is widely characterized as satirical. here you can read a translation of the relevant passage which refers to lilith.
notably: “Some researched work from Jewish feminists urges us to re-examine Lilith’s depiction in The Alphabet of Ben Sira, based on the fact that this text served as a source of satire at the time. Although the negativity surrounding Lilith’s character as a demoness, terrorising pregnant women, fornicating with demons, and murdering infants was taken with a varying degree of superstition within Judaism, it should not go unrecognized that these claims originated from the same source that satirically dealt with flatulence, incest, and masturbation”, also, “The background and purpose of The Alphabet of Ben-Sira is unclear. It is a collection of stories about heroes of the Bible and Talmud, it may have been a collection of folk-tales, a refutation of Christian, Karaite, or other separatist movements; its content seems so offensive to contemporary Jews that it was even suggested that it could be an anti-Jewish satire” (although in the last case its notable that the text WAS taken seriously by quite a few medieval german jewish mystics)
also notably, none of the sources listed here (and ESPECIALLY not the alphabet of ben sirach, which is, as noted, a satirical text written by WHO KNOWS WHO in the middle ages) are like. canon??? in? judaism? or christianity. the dead sea scrolls are not canon. (this sounds funny bc of fandom but like that is how one describes such things)
the idea of lilith as a demonic queen, temptress of men, killer of children, is one which developed in the middle ages as european folklore. lilith is definitely a presence in most jewish mystical texts involving demons in the mid-late middle ages, and I’m by no means saying that the way her mythology evolved is not misogynistic or has nothing to do with misogyny. however! as you can see it is a complex issue and i am not comfortable with it being simplified handily so that people can make a really really complex thing having to do with the culture & history of my people into like a Commentary On Western Misogyny. idk. ymmv.

The first time I heard an adult say the f word was when I was in fourth grade and we were doing some project that involved us baking cookies together as a class. My teacher Ms. Lindsey, who was real sweet, was demonstrating for everybody and she asked if anyone knew how to crack an egg, and I really didn’t know how to crack an egg, but I’m a go-getter, so I raised my hand and she called on me. I instantly knew I was in trouble at that point but I’d seen my dad crack eggs hundreds of times so I figured, ya know, it can’t be thaaaat hard. So I grab the egg but I have no sense of how softly you’re supposed to tap an egg to crack it, so I just slam it against the desk and splatter raw egg ten feet in every direction and my teacher said “what the fuck, Dion?”
Y'all do realize that Hitler had similar views about Jewish people that Trump has about Latinxs. Back then nobody thought Hitler would win and somehow he did and then fast forward to all the shit that went down. Y'all need to stop playing and start paying attention to Trump- he’s not kidding.
I’ve actually studied a lot about Hitler and the general formula that goes into the making of a genocide. Someone on my Facebook today said “Trump is just trying to define what it means to be an American” and it sent chills through me. Hitler was just trying to define what it meant to be German. And Turkey in the early 1900s was trying to define what it meant to be Turkish. Which was a large part of the Armenian genocide. Intense nationalism that leads to hatred is fucking scary, and this man is definitely a threat. I’m sure people don’t believe that Trump could order the same things to happen as Hitler did, but here’s the thing: there are two different schools of thought about the Holocaust. And that is that it was premeditated and the other is that it just built up. It was either his plan all along or the atrocities developed with time. Hitler didn’t begin his career with “burn the Jews” he began it with “re-empower Germany and deport the weaker non-Germans who are a threat to us.”
A young Jewish refugee with her Chinese playmates. Shanghai, China (x)
Between 1933 and 1941, it is estimated that 20,000 Jews escaped persecution by fleeing to the Chinese port of Shanghai. Shanghai was one of the few places in the world that would accept Jewish refugees at this time, Japan being another.
i am furious that i am just now learning about this important fact.
Because it has nothing to do with the USA being the superhero and saving all the Jews
This isnt even a BL anime what the fuck

me on a date: so....how do you feel about dogs...?
them: great :) i have one actually!
me, shoving breadsticks into my purse:c'mon hurry we have to go to your house right now
All these posts about breadsticks make me laugh and cringe because:
When I was 15 I was on a trip with Ag studies group we went to an Olive Garden, I had never been to an Olive Garden before and I am a great bread enthusiast so when the waitress put this basket of delicious-sticks in front of me I was like ‘holy shit’ and ate like 10. I started shoving them into my purse to save for later, and the waitress had to keep bringing baskets of breadsticks because they were disappearing (into my purse). There were a lot of guys on that trip and I figured ‘yeah these teenage dudes could be in theory eating all these breadsticks’ so I thought I had a bulletproof cover.
Fast forward to when we are leaving, I get stopped by the manager and the hostess and they ask to look in my purse. Cue my ‘oh shit busted’ face and a grudging handing over of my bulging purse, to which they opened and started pulling out an obscene amount of breadsticks and laying them on the counter while the hostess counted them. I actually had no idea how many breadsticks I’d had in there and when the hostess got up to 40 I was still convinced I was going to jail but oh my god I had 40 breadsticks in there so I was kind of impressed with myself. The hostess kept counting.
Forty. Seven.
Forty seven breadsticks was the total they found. (I had another two very squished and folded up in a zipped side pocket that they never looked in). They then took my picture and politely asked me to stay the fuck away from their restaurant as my picture would be posted on their ‘restricted list. To this day, 6 fucking years later, I have never gone back to any Olive Garden, because some part of me believes that some eagle eyed waitress will recognize me from a wanted poster for the Breadstick Bandit and I’ll have to explain to my mom why Olive Garden put me in prison
me on a date: so why did you choose olive garden for our date?
them: Its my favorite restaurant. No one else makes good italian
me: *shoving breadsticks into my purse* i have to go right now
