PJ HARVEY / RID OF ME
I love tumblr more than IG bc IG feels like Iām posting looking for a job but on here itās like I already lost the job and my wife and the house and Iām just sitting on the curb talking to myself
We were doing an activity where the kids got to make a playbill for a musical about themselves and all the other kids were like ācharacter list: mommy, daddy, me, my brother, my best friendā āscenes: I get a puppy, first day of school, my baby sister is bornā
But one little girl was like āoh, itās a musical about ME you sayā and the character list was all the other girls in the class cast as her body parts, and a story about how her body works.
āKaylee is nice so she will be the heart. Lily is my kidneys. Sapphire is the lungs.ā
She surreptitiously showed me that the girl who kept taking the crayons she was using was cast specifically as āleft buttcheekā and I had to pretend like that wasnāt the funniest thing Iād ever seen.
yes teenage girls can be dramatic and wild but honestly have u ever even seen what happens when u tell a grown man ānoā
The eye doctor is the most fun doctor you can go to. They never steal your blood. They never make you get naked and put on a paper dress. They're just like, "Can you see these letters? It's fine if you can't, we can fix that." And they don't even spell anything.

"no one is owed anything, except for me who is owed your money"
this might be a bit of a shock for american authors but your right to your intellectual property does not take precedence over our right to read whatever the fuck we want and your shit wouldn't be half as popular as it is if it weren't for piracy
Very important question: is that only in France where the anti piracy crowd is very white very privileged very āget sent books for free by publishers all the timeā and the pro piracy crowd is very PoC (mostly Arab but Black as well) very pushed aside by publishers never getting books for free and very pro Palestine as well?
Cause in France itās so obvious that itās a class AND race issue. To the point where independent author of color often put their book themselves on piracy platforms and tell people itās there if they canāt buy the book. While independent white author will blame people who canāt afford their books for the small percentage they get on the overall price rather than blame the industry and capitalism (yes if you get less than 1⬠over a 20⬠book you are either getting exploited and the issue is your publisher not the readers so you should fucking side with us instead of against us or youāre a damn liar and get more) so I was wondering if itās the same elsewhere.
