"No matter who you meet in your life, you should always find one thing you really admire about that person."
Meet Aaron Banes. He’s working toward a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the UMKC College of Arts & Sciences. He chose this field because it requires a wide scope of knowledge.
One thing he's learned from college:
"Life is a process of making yourself who you want to be, and education is a way to make that happen. You just need to have the courage to take the first steps."
Meet Zoe Lemon!
She's only 17, but is graduating from UMKC with a Bachelor of Science in Physics.
"I looked at several local universities, due to my age, and UMKC provided the most opportunities, especially because it is a research university. I also had the opportunity to meet professors and faculty before attending, and I felt very welcomed by them."
"I am interested in mentoring young female athletes. I want to continue to make a difference in the lives of others."
Definitely winning in life, Justice Collins, UMKC College of Arts & Sciences Communication Studies major and UMKC Women's Basketball UMKC Athletics student-athlete, will graduate this month.
Meet LeAnna Cates, UMKC School of Biological Sciences student.

Meet Mackenzie Flaws, UMKC School of Nursing & Health Studies student and UMKC Softball student athlete!

"I like the close patient interaction that comes with being a nurse. I find myself to be a source of strength for others who are hurting or in need, and the reward that comes from building compassionate relationships with patients drives me to do what I do. Nursing has evolved in the capacity of medical knowledge while still maintaining the value of providing holistic patient-centered care."
