Kasdeya grinned, and gave the tip of her tail a sharp twist before withdrawing it. “A flatterer, hm?” she asked her new, pretty little toy. “A flatterer speaks lies in order to gain something they want. When I lie, it is for my own purposes.” She leaned in close to Anthea’s neck, the rich scent of human blood filling her nose. So many memories of death and torture, back in happier, simpler days. When nobody would notice if a few humans were to go missing on a battlefield, and she could keep them locked up simply for her own pleasure. “My own amusement, more often than not,” the demon said. She bent her head further, her tongue tracing up her toy’s neck as the spilled blood gathered, rich with iron and life, at the tip of her tongue. The scarlet was showed to Anthea before being swallowed, and the skin of her neck was left as unbroken as ever.

Anthea's eyes squeezed shut, a desperate whine ripped from her chest, not knowing that she wanted the thrill of the threat, the thrill of having something keeping the air from reaching her lungs. But as soon as it started, it stopped, and Anthea was left breathless. Her mind was barely capable of keeping up with the words pouring from Kasdeya's mouth and the fingers of one hand gingerly laid themselves on the juncture where Kasdeya's neck met shoulder, nails digging in deep as a soft noise worked it's way out of Anthea's throat.

Her eyes were barely open -- one completely screwed shut and the other barely peeking out through her eyelashes -- enough to see the blood staining Kasdeya's tongue, but it was enough to elicit a short, terrified noise out of her which was immediately overrun by a noise of complete disbelieve when the pain spreading around the front of her neck dissipated. "Wh... Wha..." Anthea mumbled, fingers traveling up the demon's neck to twine in the hair at the back of her head. She shook her own head to clear her thoughts, trying to recall what Kasdeya had been talking before her tongue was laving at Anthea's exposed, bleeding throat. "Are you? Lying I mean. To gain someon-thing you want.."

Good. *twines her tail about the girl’s throat and tips her chin upwards to lock eyes with her* Because you are the prettiest of baubles that I have found in many a decade. *draws her thumbs over Anthea’s cheekbones and around her eye sockets as the sharp tip of her tail presses to her neck and draws a bead of blood*

Anthea exhales sharply, her mouth agape as the tail she had just been holding between her fingers suddenly wrapped around the width of her throat, then immediately inhales again; her breath catches several times as she tries to draw the air back into her lungs. Her eyes finally focus onto Kasdeya's and stay there, pinned, unable to look away even if she truly wanted to. 

"You're quite the--ah!" Anthea winces at the sharp prick to her neck, squirms in Kasdeya's hold but immediately stops when it only digs the tip of her tail further into the skin of her neck. Anthea is helpless to the urge of dropping her head back in submission, baring her throat to the demon before her. 

"Flatterer," she rushes out in a gust of breath, her lips barely moving, "You're a flatterer."

My name is not meant to be lovely, it is meant to strike fear into the hearts of my enemies. And it does. It has made strong men and women faint from sheer terror of my wrath before. Humans. Mutants. I could wipe them all out with a nod, if that is what I wished. *goes stiff again as her tail is tugged, the very tip of it twitching. She ignored the question until she has calmed herself a little* I do have a soft spot for pretty little baubles. Does that bother you?

*lets her tail slip through her fingers and rounds Kasdeya, looking up at her with said big blue eyes and blinks slowly* Just because your name isn't meant to be lovely, doesn't negate the fact that it is. And no... It doesn't bother me. I quite enjoy it, to be honest.

An— *spine goes stiff as Anthea touches her tail, a hiss of air passing through her clenched teeth. She seems to be having a hard time putting sentences together* Anthea. It’s a lovely n-name. But yes. Papa can have a soft spot for pretty little girls with big eyes.

*tugs on the woman's tail the same way her hair was pulled, thumbing the area where spade met tail, curious and exploratory and very much oblivious* Do you have a soft spot for pretty little girls with big eyes?

*straightens up, holding herself tall* There is only one Azazel, all others are a mere shadow, name thieves and flatterers. Now, tell me, pretty young one, what sort of dealings did you have with my Papa, hm? Not of a sexual nature, I’m supposing. No offense, but you truly do not seem his type. *turns her head to keep her eyes on Anthea, smiling not too terribly unkindly. She hesitates before speaking* I— Yes. You may touch my tail. If and only if you tell me your name, pretty one.

No, not at all. You're right in supposing; he's keeping my family safe for me. *speaks distractedly and glances up into the eyes boring into hers, her shoulders relaxing the more she stares at the pretty color of the woman's eyes* 

*whispers* Anthea... It's Anthea... *reaches her hand forward the last few inches and drags her finger from as close to the base as she can get, all the way up to the deadly pointed tip*

*is actually a little shocked at that, and steps away, staring her down for a moment before laughing* You are something else. *gives a sweeping, courtly bow, spreading her arms wide and her tail behind her* My name is Kasdeya, daughter of Azazel and Lilith, one of the heirs to the Demonic Realm.

*straightens her shirt with a defiant lift of her chin, her lips twitching up at the woman's laugh* Yeah, people tell me that a lot. 

*widens her eyes slightly at the sight of the tail, fingers twitching by her side* I-I um... Kasdeya, huh? I know Azazel. Assuming there is only one Azazel. He's who I was referring to. Though, he was very sweet and kindhearted when we sealed our deal. *leans to get a better look at her tail, going so far as to walking behind Kasdeya* You have a tail just like him... I've always been fascinated by tails; I can't help myself. May I? *holds her hand out towards it*

When he saw the machine had ceased moving and everything had indeed gone according to plan. He brushed himself off, taking just a quiet moment to change the smile that was on his face to an expression of concern and relief. Walking at a relatively normal pace, he made his way towards he had last seen the young woman head off to.

“Anthea, everything is fine now. I’ve taken care of the ruthless machine,” he called out. Glancing around to see just where she had taken cover to. “Come, it’s time we head back home.” After having said that, in the distance sirens had been echoing. The cops were coming based on whatever distress call the carnival goers had made.

“And from the sound of it, we don’t have much time before more trouble is to arrive.”

Anthea stiffened when she heard the soft pad of footsteps advancing slowly to her hideout, but immediately slumped -- her head falling backwards to rest against the wooden board behind her, her hands slipping down her face to thud onto the dirt beneath her -- at the sound of her leader's voice. She got onto her hands and knees and cautiously crawled out; Anthea had taken her eyes off of Magneto and for all she knew it could be the creepy machine impersonating someone she trusted and that was the last thing that Anthea wanted to deal with right now. All the red-head wanted as to jump into Magneto's arms and soak up the affection he sometimes bestowed upon her. 

The sound of sirens did nothing to quicken her pace and her voice was tentative, unsure and wavering as she asked, "How do I know it's really you, bossman?"

Of all the times for Anthea to learn to not be so trusting, she just had to choose now.

Blaze chuckled softly.  ”I’d love t’ train with ya sometime,” she replied with a smile.  ”I s’pose ya know hand t’ hand combat, then?  Cuz, no offense ‘r anythin’, but I don’ think fortunetellin’ an’ pyrokinesis really help each other much.”  She cracked her knuckles casually as the redhead babbled on.

“Ah, I know whatcha mean.  Even people who like bein’ alone need some company sometimes.  Speakin’ of which, ain’t there people our age aroun’ here?  Or is it all adults?”  Blaze kind of hoped that there were more kids like them at the Brotherhood; dealing with people in her own age group was something she was much more accustomed to.

Anthea's inner self cheered wildly when Blaze agreed to train with her, but on the outside she simply smiled wider, scratching the back of her head with a nervous laugh. "Sure," she half-lied, "But to be completely honest here, I usually DO use my mutation in hand-to-hand... The best defense is a good offense or something like that. Actually, I think it's the other way around... Either way, I'm better at avoiding getting hit than I am at hitting back."

Anthea shrugged and stared down at her feet, her shoulders shaking as she tried to keep her laughter suppressed. "I am an adult. I'm 21. I know, I know. I don't act my age at ALL."

It's Been A Long Time...

“KITTY!” Star squealed, plopping on the floor. Standing was too hard. God, moving was too hard. She set the pan of brownies on the nearest flat surface. Or at least she thought it was flat. Maybe another brownie. By now she had placed the strange taste, but she was completely fine with it. “I love kitties. They are so fluffy and cute and adorable and yours is so sweeeeet!” she flopped down on her tummy and propped her chin up on one hand while reaching out to scritch the orange kitten’s ears. She let out a teeny giggle.

“Damn, Anthy, you and I, we’re gonna be best friends. Both east coast girls, bothof us like cats… You’re super cute. Aaaaaaand you make fantaaaaaastic pot brownies.” She was absolutely stoned out of her mind, and for the first time in quite a while, the first time since the eplosion, that she was nearing happy.

Anthea scratched behind Hermes ears with both hands before letting go to allow Star to pet him, leaning forward to tickle her nose against the kitten's, a grin growing on her face when the cat didn't swat her away. 

"He's not sweet," Anthea corrected in a lilting tone, "He's a devil of a cat, Grimm musta giving him some catnip.. Makes him all loopy and gloopy and moopy."

Anthea snorted so hard at the admission of eating pot brownies -- well at least now she was certain which pan was which -- that it actually hurt, but not enough to keep her from laughing hysterically. "I'm sorry, I couldn't remember if they were the clean ones or not and you just kept eating them so I just let you!" Anthea giggled, jostling Hermes so much that the kitten hissed and ran off to hide under her dresser.
