Dark Sea Witchcraft
Many sea witches forget that the ocean is a dark, dangerous place, filled with deadly traps and monsters. This post is a collection of ideas on blending dark witchcraft with sea magick. (Note: I, along with many others, do not believe in the threefold law, so please keep your personal ethics to yourself)
Seashells are great for curses, as they can be broken into shards and put in a curse bottle. Research certain shell correspondences if you want a very specific curse.
Black sand can be mixed with black salt (or used by itself) for protective or cursing magick.
Saltwater gathered on the night of a dark moon makes the water even more potent for dark witchcraft.
Fish or turtle bones can be used in curse bottles or for divination. (Please only use bones that you find without actually hurting an animal. If you do sacrifice an animal, donât be wasteful and please be humane. And definitely donât sacrifice anything endangered!)
Shark teeth can be used for curses to cause fear in someone, or even bring real harm to them if used that way.
If you think on a broader scale, you can harness the power of the entire sea. Hurricanes and things like that are incredibly powerful, and are aspects of the sea. They kill many, many people, so I donât recommend a hurricane curse, as they arenât specific to who they harm.

Burning Bridges Spell
Do you have something in your life that you need gone? A toxic person or a bad habit? This spell is designed to burn away any connection you have to that bad something.Â
Necessary Items:
Lighter/matches
Representation of what (who) you are cutting ties with (needs to be flammable)Â
A safe place to let it burn out
Get your representation ready (Iâd suggest paper to be honest), if itâs a person label it as best you can with a name or something similar. If itâs a habit just write it down. Take your representation in hand and start the spell. Once itâs burning just let it burn out.Â
Pouring the fuel, fanning the flames Breaking the habit and melting the chains Once itâs burning just let it burn out.Â
The bridges are burning, the heatâs on my face Making the past an unreachable place I know, this is the point of no returnÂ
Once itâs burned out dispose of the ashes or anything left over and once you dispose of them you finish the spell by very resolutely walking away. Do not turn back, to where you disposed of the ashes. End it with the last line.
I wonât turn around
And youâre done!
NOTES: Please use magic and fire responsibly. Lyrics come from âPoint Of No Returnâ by Starset.
My Guide to Aphrodite
It's about time I did this. I will have you know my worship is all over the place (Pandemos, amirite) and I'm primarily a revivalist. I would also mention I'm more inclined to Aphrodite as the Kytherans and Spartans knew her. More Astarte than the Athenian picture of Aphrodite. I also use a lot of personal gnosis in my practice.
Offerings:
May be important to some but not necessarily in my praxis (currently). I'll include more offerings when I get away from my conservative parents. But I do have ideas:
Note that 'hist.' means historically attested, 'gnos.' means personal gnosis, and 'gen.' means generally agreed upon
Roses hist.
Doves (live or imagery) hist.
Male White Goats (live or imagery) hist.
Bulls (live or imagery) hist.
Lions (imagery) hist.
Fertility symbols (phallus/lingam, yonic imagery) hist.
Votives depicting pregnant women/goddesses (Dea Gravida) hist.
Hair hist.
Incense (rose, myrrh, myrtle) hist.
Grains hist.
Incense (saffron, sandalwood, jasmine) gnos.
Sandalwood sticks gnos.
Saffron gnos.
Aphrodisiac herbs gnos. (?)
Apples gen.
Fruits hist. and/or gen.
Swan imagery gen.
Statues/votives gen.
Dolls (Barbie, specifically) gen.
Clay oil lamps (dipti/dia) gnos.
Spears (live or imagery) hist. and/or gnos.
Images of the crescent moon/bull horns hist.
All below are books she might appreciate:
Demography books
Romance novels
Politics books
"The Art of War" by Sun Tzu
Copies of Sappho's works
Copies of Rumi, Saib-e-Tabrizi, Saadi Yousef, Ahmed Matar and Fakruddin Iraqi's works
Copies of Rabindranath Thakur's works
Devotional Acts:
I won't categorise this.
Working out
Reading poems of love and mysticism, specifically Sufi mystic poetry. She loves that stuff in my personal practice. Also Hindustani poetry, along with Bengali.
Growing your own roses, saffron or myrtle.
Feeding doves, pigeons, ducks, swans, and cats (or lions if you're brave enough).
Petting cows and goats
Singing in the shower
Eating fruit
Praying before you eat
Praying in general
Speaking her praises
Cleaning your bathroom
Cleaning your shrine or altar
Writing poetry
Appreciating visual art
Painting
Appreciating good architecture
Learn Assyrian and/or Levantine Arabic
Learn Persian or Hindustani or Bangla because French is overrated.
Adult stuff.... like paying taxes (kids should not)
Prayers:
I'm very casual with Aphrodite verbally. Although during prayers you might've noticed I avoid her name directly, not because I don't want her attention. It's because I deem it the most holy. So I settle for epithets like "Amber-eyed One", "Eternal One", "Great Goddess", etc. I address her by name in case of urgent stuff..... Which. Um. Includes praying to getting rid of the bugs in my room đ§đžââď¸. HEY THAT'S URGENT I CAN'T SLEEP IN A PSEUDO-FORESTâ
Anyways. The prayer itself is usually very short. I don't say long prayers most times. I evoke her, say what I want, or simply praise her and end the prayer with thanks and salutations.
Syncretism:
Big part in my practice. Aphrodite is Astarte, she is Ishtar and Inanna, she is Venus, she is Isis, she is Parvati, she is Al-Uzzah and Al-Lat. I believe that there's Aphrodite, the foam-born daughter of the Castrated Ouranos. The Meter Thea, or Mother God. Ourania is her will, Areia is her action, and Pandemos is her manifestation.
That's about it đ may the Eternal One bless you
Some ideas for offerings to Aphrodite:
đ¤ Herbarium/pressed flowers
đ¤ Rose flowers, dry rose petals, rose water
đ¤ Honey, especially honey from your local beekeepers
đ¤ Sesame and dried fruit candy, dark chocolate
đ¤ Raspberry wine, pomegranate juice
đ¤ Poetry, photography or any art you make dedicated to her
đ¤ Jewelry with seashells and or pearls
đ¤ Seashells in general especially scallops and pieces of nacre
đ¤ Any gold jewelry you have can be kept at her altar
đ¤ Decorative soaps, perfume samples
Also always remember it's not about how expensive your offerings are, it's about your genuine love for her and people around you and yourself!

đâď¸Sunshine Happiness Bathâď¸đ
Hello witchlings! With the sun in the sky and summer all around us in the Northern Hemisphere I thought I'd share one of my favorite bath recipes! It's focus is around solar magic and the oranges - to fill you with vibrations both hearty and gentle, bold and elegant, vibrant and soft. âď¸ It's time to take care of and connect to your divine self!Â
Ingredients:
âď¸ 3-4tbsp of sea salt
âď¸ the peel from one orange(preferably local or organic so you know it's pesticide free)
âď¸ a handful of lavender buds
âď¸ optional: for more intention(or simply the comfy aesthetic) you can make a small altar on your bathroom counter. You can use a candle, light incense, crystals with solar or intended energies(i.e. orange calcite, carnelian, sunstone, citrine, quartz point, etc.), put on music with the right vibes, etc.
Directions:
âď¸ Best done when the sun is out - draw a warm bath for yourself. While the tub is filling up add in your spell ingredients and stir the water in a clockwise direction focusing on your intent. As you stir visualize the golden rays of sunlight rippling off the water, the energy of sweetness and joy filling the bath.
âď¸ Optional: while the bath is still filling; light your incense, candles, set up your little solar offering, open a window, etc. get comfy!
âď¸ Once all set up - soak for at least ten minutes(or whatever is comfortable for you), feeling all the heaviness and darkness be washed away, instead filling you with the bright light of joy.

some ideas for non-verbal spell casting:
so iâm a pretty quiet person irl, and i find a lot of spellbooks and posts on here include verbalization in the form of incantations, mantras, et cetera.
which is all well and good if that works for you, whatever floats your boat and casts your spell; but what if youâre like me and verbalizations make you uncomfortable?
or youâre practicing late at night while your housemates are asleep?
or you just. prefer to not speak?
well, here are some alternatives!
say your incantation internally
visualize your incantation
make your incantation physical (could you add movement/gestures to your spell?)
make it symbolic (breaking something, binding something, burying it?)
use a noisemaker! (eg. a bell, clap, a song, note, chord, etc)
simply do without! not every spell or ritual needs a verbal component, and maybe youâre just not that kind of practitioner. thatâs okay!
iâm sure there are tons of things that iâve left off or forgotten, and i definitely want to hear more ideas if you have them!
wind be with you!

( â¤ď¸ )  people often speak of scorpio rising coming off as very intense, and i often find that to be the case with capricorn placements (especially rising) as well. iâd say because of its ruler - saturn - itâs a placement that demands a lot of respect & it shows in a capricornâs demeanor in a more intimidating manner than scorpio.
( â¤ď¸ )  speaking of capricorn placements, youâre either in their life or outside of it. capricorns are very committed partners & friends, so once they cut you out, itâs unlikely they will take you back. i have both capricorn mars & venus and i have been told iâm âtoo all or nothingâ when it comes to relationships because i do not do back & forth. thatâs true for most capricorn placements - theyâre not here to play.
( â¤ď¸ )   the signs people tend to project onto the most in my opinion are scorpios & pisces. pisces have a very distinct but mysterious energy, a bit of a siren-like nature, whilst scorpios tend to be magnetic and a bit sensual, even without trying. however, people often project their fantasies and dreams onto these signs, which makes it even harder for them to date anyone because it could be difficult to get to know the âreal themâ if youâre not careful with your own expectations of them.
( â¤ď¸ )   most underrated zodiac sign: taurus. i do not see people speaking enough of taurus other than them being âself-indulgent.â but these people know how to be grounded and they smell so good. i have never met a taurus placement who did not smell good or look proper. iâve noticed theyâre also suuuuper discreet. tauruses donât like to force or aim to being the center of attention. if they are, itâs in a very effortless & natural way.
( â¤ď¸ )   leos can suffer from âmain character syndrome.â which can be good in their personal lives, but it can cause a strain in their relationships if theyâre not careful enough. because theyâre ruled by the sun, they can be prone to taking things very personally - even if it has nothing to do with them. they also donât take rejection very well and sometimes develop an even bigger infatuation with the person if theyâve rejected them.
( â¤ď¸ )   astrological recipe for a rebel: aquarius + scorpio + sagittarius + aries + gemini placements. people with a lot of these placements can become âspitefulâ if you tell them what to do - especially if they already know what to do or if they havenât asked for your question. theyâre likely to do the opposite just to spite you.
( â¤ď¸ )   people speak of virgoâs academic intelligence, but i find that other signs present different kinds of intelligence as well. cancer, scorpio & libra can be very emotionally intelligent, sometimes to the point of becoming âthe therapist friend.â pisces and aquarius are innovative & creative, they have vision, especially in fashion (pisces for its ability to project an image and aquarius for its love for the authentic). capricorn & taurus are very finantially independent and good at handling money and material things. gemini is great at handling different subjects and finding connection between that seem completely opposites. the fire signs are excellent at socializing and networking, theyâre naturals at working with people and can easily climb their career if they have good relationships with their peers, leo especially.

đŽHow To Use A PendulumđŽ
âSit down at a table and make yourself comfortable (you should feel grounded and calm).
âRest the elbow of the arm holding the pendulum on the table in front of you. Allow the weight of the pendulum to swing freely.
âThe pendulum will move itself; either by your thoughts or a spirit who you have given permission to work through you, like a spirit guide.
âIt is suggested to first program the pendulum with your energy and the movement for "yes" and "no."
âAlways begin by steadying the weight of the pendulum with your free hand. Keep your eyes on the pendulum and say, "show me Yes." It will soon pick a direction. It can be side to side, back and forth, or circles. Write this down.
âSteady the pendulum and now say, "show me No." It should swing in the opposite direction.
âFor the times that the answer is "unknown" or the spirit needs more information, the pendulum will generally swing diagonally or not at all.
âThe faster the movement - the stronger the energies, or the clearer the answer.
âAlways have something on hand to record your questions, answers, and the motions and behaviors of your pendulum.
đŽPendulum TipsđŽ
âKeep your questions a "yes," or "no," answer.
âYou can use a pendulum chart or make one yourself to make things easier.
âA pendulum can be made of anything that can be dangled from a string or thin chain.
âUse stones or items of a comfortable size and weight. And keep the chain at a comfortable length.
âCleanse your pendulum often as it can collect negative energies and can distort your answers. (Sea salt water, smoke cleanse, clear running water, etc.)
âKeep your mind neutral, not thinking yes or no, stay focused on the swinging end of the pendulum.
âIf you want the pendulum to say "yes," it will honor your desire. For this reason, it is important to keep your mind cleared and ask questions in an emotionally neutral way for best results.
âThe more you work with a pendulum, the more you will learn its benefits, uses, and limits.
Keep in mind, if the information you receive becomes negative, STOP.

âž Rose Salt â˝
One of my personal favorite things to make, Rose Salt has a variety of uses. Whether you use it as a scrub in the shower to cleanse yourself and your energies, as a relaxing soak in a warm bath to relax in, or sprinkle it in doorways and on windowsills as a form of protection, itâs multipurpose and very easy to make! What Youâll Need: - Dried Roses - Salt - A Vessel With a Lid to Keep It In - A Mortar & Pestle Optional: - Rose Essential Oil Steps:
Take the petals and buds of your Roses, save the stems and thorns for other spells, and grind them finely with your Mortar & Pestle.
Add Salt.
Mix both well until they are combined well.
Add the mixture into the vessel you chose.
Add the essential oil, seal the vessel, and gently shake to combine everything together more easily.
One of the many properties of Roses is Protection as is with Salt so combining the two gives you a simple, fragrant protective material to keep around your home.
Reconnecting with your spirituality â§ĚŁĚ˳¡Ëâś
Great for baby witches!
I gathered a few really simple rituals I do to reconnect with my spirituality after some time without practicing magic or when I feel like I lost my touch.
Firstly, itâs important to remember your place in the universe. If youâve never taken some time to consider the nature around you, do that before trying anything else. Of course itâs ideal that you explore the nature that surrounds your home frequently, but itâs possible to connect with it while being someplace else. Ask yourself:
â How do the seasons change where you live? Which changes can you see and feel throughout the year? How is it right now?
â How does the moon influence you, in particular? Which phase of the moon is it today?
â Which plants that are native to your region can you find around your neighborhood? Which ones are most abundant?
â Which animals are native to your region? Do you see them around sometimes?
â Whatâs the nearest body of water? In which direction is it located? How do you think it must be today? (The sea must be agitated because itâs a full moon, the river must be at high tide cause it rained, etc.)
Knowing the natural spaces around you is what forms the solid base you need to connect with nature on a larger scale. Thereâs some simple exercises that help you gradually build a relationship with the world around you, starting small and expanding as you gain experience:
To start đ¸
Choose a plant or a rock that youâre already familiar with, like a house plant you may have. Approach it like itâs the first time you really see it. The purpose is to gain some form of intimacy with it. Pay attention to its appearance, texture and smell (and if itâs an edible plant, its taste), and to the sensations it gives you. After trying it with a plant or a rock you already know, move on to one youâve never interacted with before.
Connecting with plants đ¸
This method is used by a lot of witches to gather information about a plantâs energy based on their own energy. Different people may perceive the same plant differently cause each of us have our own, singular energy thatâll interact with it. Thatâs why gathering information from personal experience is so important. A herb that is said to help with something might affect you differently than it does to most witches, thatâs normal. So:
â Choose a plant youâre already familiar with and touch it in a way that makes you comfortable.
â Close your eyes and imagine your palm glowing with light. Focus on how that feels. Some people say they feel their hand tingle or warm up at that. Either way, imagine your palmâs energy vibrating, into the plant.
â Visualize the plant is glowing as well, and that both your energies are connecting into one. When you feel youâve achieved that, concentrate on how you feel. Is it an specific emotion or sensation? Do any thoughts or ideas pop into your head? It can be a pretty vague feeling, thatâs okay; itâll grow into something stronger and more defined as you work with it, if you decide to.
â When you feel youâve observed enough, be thankful for the plantâs cooperation and visualize your energy separating from the one emanating from the plant and retrieving itself back into your palm as it stops glowing.
â Open your eyes and let go. You might want to shake your hand around as if youâre trying to dry it off after washing your hands; some witches do that to make sure theyâve really disconnected.
After trying it with a plant youâre familiar with, repeat the exercise with one youâve never interacted with before.
Grounding đ¸
Connecting with the earth helps you stay balanced. If youâre feeling anxious and all over the place, you can discharge that excess energy into the earth; if youâre feeling lethargic, the earth can energize you. To do that, you need to ground yourself. Some spells and rituals are so draining that you need to ground yourself beforehand so it doesnât take too much of your energy. Hereâs a simple grounding method I think pretty much every witch has used before:
â Take a deep breath, slowly, three times. Be aware of your own energy going through your body. You may close of eyes, if you want. Focus on your chest, and visualize a beam of light in its center. Imagine thatâs your energy source.
â Visualize a branch growing from that center and reaching downwards, into the earth. Let it go beyond your body and touch the ground. I like to imagine that Iâm a tree and that my roots are digging into the earth, and take a moment to appreciate how deep and strong they are, and how strong and stable that makes me.
â When you feel youâve formed a connection, you can let your energy work with the earth, and let go of any excess thatâs stressing you or receive whatâs lacking.
Connecting with the elements đ¸
Thereâs several ways to connect with the 4 elements, and a lot of witches renew their connection periodically with an exercise. For that, gather something to represent each element. For the element earth, use fresh dirt, salt, a rock or a crystal. For air, use an object thatâll make an air current; preferably a hand fan. For fire, a candle. For water, a small bowl of water will do. Touch each object, close your eyes, and visualize their energy connecting with yours. (Since you canât touch fire, obviously, hold out your hand over the flame, from a safe distance where you can still feel the heat.) Do that for a minute or two, and try to put into words what you feel. Be sure to disconnect yourself from an element before connecting with the next one. What I said about the plants goes for the elements as well: different people may perceive them differently, which is why you need to gather information from personal experience, and build your own relationship with them.
⨠Manifesting everyone getting their desires instantly & effortlessly â¨
Green witch / every damn witch tip
Get a protective plant, get a plant that has thorns or spikes, get a plant that represents protection in general (like rosemary, African Violets, Lavender, Basil etc.) and on the first of every month, hold a ritual where you water it, give it offerings of fruits, cakes, wine or blessed water - so that it can protect your home for the coming month. If it dies, or a leaf or section of it dies, that means it prevented something from coming in. You know what you do? You thank the plant, pinch that part off and go and burn it outside of your house (that plant spent its life keeping some bad stuff out your house and now you're going to bring it in) or bury it somewhere off your property. Give thanks again by blessed water. Say a charm while watering it in the beginning of every month, and then every other day just water it normally wit thanks. There you go, green witchcraft sorted.
