“Too bad all those bad-guy Teams or whatever are just comprised solely of huge nerds.”
Something about the wordage is… uncomfortable. Maybe because she doesn’t like thinking of Magma as anything other than a bunch of loons, maybe because she’d like to think that the mindset died when Groudon was defeated, but nonetheless she has the sense to mind her tongue.
“They’re crazy.” She states, a shake of her head following. “Made it sound all pretty… making a new world for the Pokemon. Pah. That was a pretty big fat lie. Or maybe it wasn’t… they’re still crazy though.”
A frown tugs at the corners of her lips. “Anyone dumb enough to mess with a legendary Pokemon has some pretty deep issues, honestly.”
Touko snickers. “Completely crazy.” With the fact that the girl repeated the adjective twice, perhaps Touko was misinterpreted-- there is no way she’d say that setting everything on fire is a good/tolerable idea in the slightest. Just that she has a certain respect for people who are tenacious, crazy or otherwise. You’re alright, Magma, now get your behind in jail.
“I dunno. I think they did believe in what they were doing-- at least a little, I mean. Like a lie, but they didn’t know they were lying? Sucks for everyone involved, especially with the legendary party.” If only making an ideal world were so straightforward. Knock, knock, ask a legendary, and in a perfect world no one would die in the process and everyone would be happy. Sadly, it’s not a perfect world.
“But hey, whaddo I know, I’m just some chick that walked in.”
Touko it’s not nice to stare— Sure, but the woman before her looks so much like herself. Yes, there’s the height difference, and the eye color isn’t her own cerulean shade. She’s got her hair and her clothes for Arceus’ sake!
“I s’pose it’s pretty rad. I don’t see many people with the same fashion sense as myself these days. I’ve never met someone who looked so much like me!” She tips the brim of her hat with a smile. “I’m Touko. Nice to meet’cha.”
She didn’t think her fashion sense was that rare, but now that it’s been pointed out. Hm, maybe-so, but the rest of the introduction is much more interesting. “Really? I’m Touko, too. Man, this is gonna get confusing if we don’t get ourselves some code names.” Alright, well, looks like it’s Attack of the Clones or something. (Time to fight your double for supremacy? ...Nah, cut herself (?) a break).
“Lessee. You’ll be Koko.” Touko flashes the other girl a bright grin and a thumbs-up. “Nice to meet you too!” It’s adding a nice dose of surrealism to her day.
“What style are you even talking about—?” How she could call those tattered clothes ‘style’ was beyond him. While sure, there were clothes that were like that on purpose, you couldn’t get them like that out of the store. This girl probably didn’t think twice about her clothes getting ruined as long as they still functioned as they were supposed to… Damn, it was kind of a shame honestly. “I feel the same way— You got a nice body, but your clothes don’t give it any justice, you know.”
Touko huffs. “My pretty face makes up for the outfit, yeah?” Or at least, she has the egotism/confidence that she’s pretty either way. “Who has the time to keep up to date on fashion when you’re busy? You look nice but do you have fun?” She’s on an adventure here. Nice clothes don’t last long when you’re spelunking. Or doing... much of anything else, really, that Touko enjoys.

“There’s been a lot about Hoenn in the news recently, y’know?” Touko’s voice, while still mostly in a happily unconcerned tone, has an unusual edge of thoughtfulness. She doesn’t look too hard at the girl she’s speaking to, tapping instead on the news feed on her xtranciever. “And I’m glad it ended up with minimal casualties and all, but I still gotta have some respect for the Team. Nutty ecoterrorists, but at least they all really believed in their goals.” While she can’t possibly condone anything that causes people’s lives to be threatened on such a large scale, Touko’s the hero of ideals. She has to have some respect for people who place their ideals on such a pedestal, ridiculous as they may be.
the girl is back! so let’s start this game back up! (aka please like this post if you want a starter).
hiya guys! sorry but, I’m going to be putting myself on temporary hiatus I’ll be out of town for a bit over a week, so. no internets. sorry for such a soon absence! >w<;;;;; ill make it up when i get back w/ hopefully cool threads??idk
“Oh yes, I remember you!” Admittedly, you hadn’t recognized her at first as you passed but her voice triggered had triggered the memory. “Yes, I was! That was my first time in Unova, you know. Got lost quite a lot when I was looking for them. I remember running into you a lot, somehow. Yep. I remember it just like it was yesterday. And your name is…”
You scratch your head absentmindedly while you think. Oh, what was her name? It was… “Serena! Wait no. Touko. Yes? Touko? I think that was it. Sometimes it’s so hard to remember all these names. I know way too many people for my own good. But no, I definitely remember you. You had a lot of spunk.”
Touko’s not bothered by Looker forgetting her name-- it’s not too common or anything, and it’s been a while. She’s about to supply it when he guesses it, and she gives him a grin and a thumbs up when he gets the correct one. (Offhandedly, though, who was Serena? Some other cool Trainer? Nice.)
“Yup, Touko! That’s me. Mr. Looker, right?” What a code name. The aptness is whatamuses her. “I’m glad you remember, and thanks. Is Plasma back up to something, is that why you’re around here?” Her tone gets a bit more serious, and her expression seems to darken a bit. Plasma better not be back. She missed their second resurgence while in Kanto, but if Looker’s here because there’s a round three, well. She’ll fight ‘em. “But I mean, if you’re not, that’s great for me to hear.”
The boy blinked before nodding. Guess he really needed to put more faith in Touko. After all she was his older sibling. Without having much to contest he sighs an, “Ok”.
But wow, how could he? He just can’t get past the thought that he is being considered, the Oshawott’s mama. It was very much like a dream come true. But just thinking about it in general made him all mushy and embarrassed. Despite hearing Touko’s all and inspiring speech, Touya shook his head, “Ah, I just can’t….I dunno if I can be the best pokemama.” Even though he has more experience raising oshawotts thanks to Sammy.
And the mushy feeling doesn’t stop. He just feels so overwhelmingly happy seeing his sister happy. All he could do was chirp under the embarassment, “Anything for my big sis!”
Touko acknowledges his concessions with a victorious nod. That’s right, she’s got this one in the bag, so don’t worry about it!
Touya’s less-than-optimistic response makes Touko huff. “C’mon, why not?” She pokes Touya, lips pursed. Believe in yourself! “Isn’t that what you’re studying at the institute to do? Be a good breeder, and become the very best?” That no one ever was. She is all here for Touya’s success! He works hard, he just needs to verbally acknowledge it’s going to pay off, right? Right!
At least he’s still happy, though, even if Touya’s flustered. Touko considers it a job well done for this visit already. “Aw, I feel special. Is there anything you’re after, like a pokemon from a different region or anything?”

«¤»— He at first meant to speak, yet what came out a low hiss, perhaps longer than it should have been, an exaggerated ‘tsk’ which lost its bite. “Talking, not giving unwanted ‘advice.’ If you’d even dare to call it that.” Regardless of whether or not he’d never wear red normally — “There’s an adage about strangers that you clearly don’t heed to, but that’s really your own fault and problem, isn’t it?”
Touko responds to the tsk with a small sigh. She’s heard a lot of those by now, to the point where tiny shows of exasperation are just about involuntary. Trying to keep the aloof sense of humor up, she wiggles a hand noncommittally. “Maybe advice. Coulda given worse, really.”
“Yeah, it is. But it’s a-- what was the word? Adage? --For kids, and I’m not scared of strangers or anything.” She leaves off the ‘so there’ that she’s thinking, but it’s evident enough in Touko’s tone. Sorry Maxie, while she realizes bothering this guy wasn’t the best choice, how she feels personally challenged and is too stubborn to let him have his way and be left alone.

Touko's methodically placing a bandaid over a wound on her leg-- a mishap when training one of the new pokemon she'd caught. Nothing too bad, but it's best to make sure one's taken care of. Especially with it being a poison pokemon. It was pretty young, but her leg already felt numb, no need to risk it getting worse. The offending Venipede is on the bench next to Touko, occasionally chittering in a way that seems vaguely apologetic.
A shadow over her distracts her from final touch ups, and both Touko and the Venipede look up, recognition crossing over Touko's face when she sees who it is. Ah yes, it's that kinda weird guy from back when the whole Plasma debacle happened! What a coincidence. She waves. "Heya, mister. You're that guy who was looking for the Sages or whatever, right? Wasn't expecting to run into you again."

She leans over the back of a bench, staring with great curiosity at the girl in front of her. Touko isn't confused or anything by her presence, just bemused and inquisitive.
"Aw, man. You look a lot like me-- that's pretty cool! Haven't had this coincidence happen before." There's some difference, she can tell, like this girl's a bit shorter, and her eyes are blue, not matching Touko's dark brown but dang if the rest of it isn't oddly familiar.
«¤»— “Surely about as often as you consider shutting your mouth instead of making comments to a complete stranger —- but then again, I don’t know you, do I?”
"I consider it, I just don't do it. --So I guess that means you have thought about colours, in which case I'm all for it. Throw some variety in there."
"No need to snip at me, mister. How are you supposed to meet people and have fun without talking to a couple strangers along the way, huh?"
— Δ “I know right? I couldn’t believe it because he looked so cool when I first saw him,” with a slight pause, Yuuki started his monologue once more, “well, yeah that’s true I also caught a Sandile in Route 111…” Δ —
Taking her hand in his and shaking it, the teen smiled at Touko. — Δ “Mister smart trainer? Don’t flatter me, name’s Yuuki.” Δ —
Touko quite interested at the offhand mention of a Sandile. Cool! So something from her own region was found here as well. "Ooh, a Sandile? I know those, at least. Unova natives~. Route 111, you said? I'm gonna have to go check it out." She should go try to find them, maybe there will be some interesting differences in a Hoenn and Unova Sandile.
"Nothing wrong with the occasional flattery, right? Yuuki! Alrighty. Nice to meet you." It was a pretty easy name to remember. she hadn't heard much similar. And hey, prime nickname material if necessary.
