@stellarcomedyAfter staring to both the chocolate and the spinner for a little while, the Commander finally asked for the footage of the security cameras to find out who had left the two gifts for him so he could question the reason. If it was out of interest, he was flattered, if it was meant to be a joke... then someone was going to spend some time in the Brig.His eyes widened when he saw the culprit. How did he even know he liked spinners? No matter, Bering was going to find out. His hand went to the communicator."I need the Elite Fighter Eastwood here now."

Eastwood knew very well of Isolde’s qualities, he sae some of them first hand himself when paired and others from talking with others; a man capable putting origins aside and focusing on the strong parts of his friends, cool and collected yet more than ready to take the front in any moment. He understood what he represented and how important he was, however, the question always lingered: what made such strong man come down to the pit where they first met?
“Sir, I understand where you’re coming from. You paired me with him two years ago and it didn’t work as planned, I know it must have been a disappointment. Still… I see myself forced to inquire if this is prudent.” Isolde was his friend and leader, he had enough power in his hands to go against Bering and Cook if he wanted, Eastwood knew this, and yet he did nothing. “We’re in enemy space and I don’t think it would be wise to let suspicion rise at this moment. Still, I get that you care for the best outcome of this mission and I’m willing to aid in whatever way I can.”
“With this, I must ask: is there any kind of sign I should look for? Some behaviour maybe? And how would you prefer my reports to come around. Should I come and report myself or would you prefer I fill a file?”
That was one quality he had learned to admire on the Elite Fighter, he spoke his mind without lacking and yet still followed the orders given to him without complaining. "I just want you to keep an eye on him, for more stable that he may look to you and to anyone else, there are some... elements that may trigger some bad reactions from him. I want you to keep what you are doing and to report to me if you notice any changes in his behavior. Anything unusual must be reported am I clear?" He asked.
"I prefer if you come in person, it doesn't matter what time of the day or night, if something happens I want to know." He added. Bering knew Isolde was a capable man and more than worth his title but he was still not totally stable to him. Navigators were spendable, so he needed to be monitored. If Tristan weren's so dull, he would have asked him but it would be no use.
"I know it's a lot to ask, but you are the only one I trust to be able to do this, Eastwood."

It’s a little game Cook and Bering like to play, it’s called “important missions”

Their squadron was picked by Isolde entirely and, somehow, all of them worked perfectly fine. Not one of the members fought with each other for real, aside from their leader, Isolde, who seemed to have quite the hard time with his new assigned Fighter. They were quite the bunch of weirdos and not even Eastwood with all of his positiveness could deny he thought things would go down during the first days of them together, however, somehow nothing bad happened and all of them worked perfectly with each other, heck, even Virgil, their mute member was quite the chatterbox and friendly once they learned how to deal with him.
“Sir, as strange as this may sound, the squadron works quite alright. Isolde proved to know how to choose well his companions for this mission, where one falls short, other of us holds them up. The team is quite balanced.” The dark haired male spoke firmly, never breaking his eye contact with the Commander. “As for Isolde himself, I believe he’s doing very well. As stable as he can be, punching, kicking and yelling at Tristan like I’ve never seen him doing before. He’s quite more lively than what I remember him from years ago.”
Bering remained quiet as he listened. He should have been asking Cook about Isolde, but he knew the best way to get information was from someone who knew him well. Not to mention that he had the lingering suspicion that Isolde and the Commander didn't get along that well, not that he had any way to confirm that. He remembered the incident with the old Elite Fighter and had been the one to assign Eastwood to the Navigator after.... that. At least his new Fighter was managing to bring some life back into him even if it was not in the most ideal way.
"Thats good to hear. I'll be quite frank to you, Eastwood, if he hadn't come around, he wouldn't be of use to the Alliance anymore, what would be a shame considering he's one of the best we got." The Commander said. "I trust that you will report directly to me if anything happens, as stable Isolde might be, I want you to keep an eye on him since I can't ask Tristan to do that for me. Can I trust this task to you, son?"

Eastwood relaxed a little once told to sit down and followed the order. It wasn’t the first time he was called to the Commander’s office, in fact, it was an almost weekly routine and each time was for a different reason, which made things hard to be predictable.
The Elite Fighter didn’t say a word, instead, waited for his Commander to make his reasons open.
Bering had a few reasons to rely on Eastwood about information, even considering he could tecnically trust Enkle to keep him updated, but the main one was that the other Fighter wasn't up to date with all the information that Bering needed and wanted.
"As we both know, you are not also working with the Elite Navigator Isolde and the other members of the squad that he picked. I want to know how the operation is going and how is Isolde performing. Is he stable?"
(Eastwood to Bering) "Did you call me, sir?"

The Commander didn’t answer immediately, he was typing something on his computer probably filling a report to send to his superious about how things were going on his side. It was important to do that not only because it was asked of him, but because also because it gave him the opportunity to refresh his mind about everything that was happening on board of the space ship. With so many things and Fighters to keep track of, somethings things could slip from his thoughts and the last thing he wanted was to get a lecture from Cook.
Finally, after he was done typing, Bering looked up to the Elite Fighter that had spoken to him. “Yes, I did.” Came his answer, colected and professional. “Take a sit, Eastwood.” He indicated the chair in front of his desk with a motion of his head.
