"I called you nine times. You didn't call me back."
James sighed, looking into the woman's eyes with regret,
'Listen, I was fairly busy. I just didn't have the time to get back to you.' He attempted to placate her, trying not to recall how it felt being hung up in that meat processing plant until John saved him. 'I'm here now... how's some ice cream sound?'
James watched the solitary person move. A frown creased his lips as he furrowed his brow.
They appear hurt.
He got out of the car and walked towards them, concern etched onto his features as he noticed the more frantic pace they appeared to be attempting. He put out his hands in a non-threatening manner, but almost collided with her nonetheless as she appeared distracted.
' It's alright. Are you hurt? Can I help you?'
He made no sudden movements and kept his eyes peeled for the same from her as well as anything around.
' It's dangerous out here alone...'
“What?” Cara brow’s furrowed in confusion, “No, I’m going for a run. And what do you mean hurt?” Then she realized that her gait must’ve been off because of her bad knee, because of how hard she’d been pushing it, and she shook her head, “Oh, that - that’s just an old knee injury. Gets worked up when I get overzealous with my running, but what can I say, it’s the perfect night for it.” Which was very much the opposite of the truth in terms of why she was running, but not when it came to the night itself. It was crisp and clear and a little cold, but it felt good once she got going. As for his warning, she reassured him, “I can take care of myself, but I appreciate the concern. Sorry again for the near-collision, but as you can see, everything’s fine.”
He nodded slightly, his eyes still full of concern but he simply shrugged internally. If you look for problems or issues consistently, you'll find them. I'm sure there's nothing going on.
'Oh -- my mistake then. I suppose I'm just a bit wound up. Long day and all that and not enough coffee.' He attempted to joke, laughing weakly at it before clearing his throat. 'Are you sure I can't help you by maybe offering an energy bar or someth--'
He stopped then, his brow furrowing with concern as he heard the sound of twigs snapping and foliage being shifted.
'Maybe we just move back to an area that's a bit better lit...'
Mason blinked, somewhat surprised at her but subsequently smiling broadly.
' You always seem to understand me so well, don't you?' He leaned against the nearby counter and pushed his hair back from his face. ' So you remember Trevor from the coffee shop? He was struggling with this young lady and when I tried to help, he brushed me off with a chilling gaze. I could have sworn my coffee almost froze.'
Which it did. That was weird.
Olivia couldn’t help but laugh softly, shaking her head as she leaned against the counter opposite Mason. “You have a knack for finding yourself in the middle of the most unusual situations, you know that?” Her tone was warm, teasing, but there was a flicker of curiosity in her eyes.
“Trevor, though? The sweet guy who always puts extra caramel in your drinks if you ask? I can’t picture him giving anyone a ‘chilling gaze.’” She paused, her brow furrowing slightly as she studied Mason’s face.
Mason nodded, a slightly grim smile upon his face. He seemed far away for a moment, his eyes focusing on something or someone behind her before he sighed.
'I.. remember that time that I told you that sometimes I feel like I'm not exactly like other people?', he started, his eyes continuing to flick to an area just behind her which was currently devoid of people. 'I feel like sometimes I have some sort of... sixth sense. You know like the movie.'
He ended lamely, looking down at his hands for a moment before sighing.
'So... do you believe in ghosts?'

Ares watched the woman's lithe form move in a lithe, acrobatic way, how her limbs flashed with bonebreaking precision. He thought he may have even heard one snap as he approached them.
The men stood no chance against the angel of retribution and when they finally were dispatched and unconscious, he strode to within a few feet of her.
'Nice moves there.' He complimented, his eyes flashing with hunger. 'Quite a bit of violence with lesser restrain than others. Oh, I approve.'
He applauded slowly, finally closing the distance between them and running a hand down her side. ' I think I'll make you mine.'

James looked at her with confusion evident in his emerald eyes.
' Yeah that's... what?'
Kat embraced him more with the privacy even though she was also comfortable in a public setting as well. The gal had zero shame really.
Her lips locked on his as her legs wrapped securely on his waist as he hoisted her up. Sliding her tongue into his mouth rubbing her piercing against his tongue toying with him.
She had missed him so much and it showed with how she was kissing him. She needed him more than a breath of air. Her lipstick smeared as her hands slid under his shirt feeling his skin.
James couldn't help but laugh into their embrace, their tongues cavorting in a dance of pleasure. He hefted her easily, his hands squarely placed upon her backside and gave it a generous squeeze.
He broke their kiss gently and looked at her with a half grin.
'Always good to be back to old haunts.', he murmured in a low voice as he walked them to the couch and sat down with a satisfied grunt, all the while kissing her neck and biting gently against her earlobe.
'Now... let's see the striptease I remember so well..'

“Mhmmm,” Rose hummed as she crossed her arms, her fingertips tapping gently against her forearm. “Don’t think I’m fooled. I know that this is your way of getting out of unloading the dishwasher.” A smirk tugged on the corner of her lips as she closed the space between them, her arms wrapping around his middle. “And what flavor crossed your mind?”
'I... was thinking some delicious Peppermint Christmas type one. It's got the real chunks in it! It's so good... and it's on sale because it's January!' James said guiltily, a grin spreading across his features.
'I was even going to get you something great too. Like one of those fancy new coffees people seem to love!'
"That's the last time you don't tell me what's happening when it's happening, you got it?" From aiden
James looked at her with a sullen expression, guilt etched into his features before he gave a slow and measured nod.
'I... I am beyond sorry. I didn't mean to worry you but... I was caught in a difficult situation and had to be away for some time. I... dealt with the entity in a very final fashion but it took so long.. I just didn't want you or anyone else hurt..'

' Yeah that's... what?'
She embraced him spinning her around. Savoring the kiss. "Yea I can show you how flexible I am still.." She toyed with him.
Taking his hand walking to her place which wasn't far. "We can get it delivered..if you're still hungry after."
Back at her apartment she pulled him back into a kiss shutting the door behind them.
James grinned as he allowed himself to be led. He took a look around the city and simply took in the sound of the people and the sound of their footfalls. He allowed his eyes to roam down her body, watching the way her hips swayed with her steps and he felt a fire light within him. No need for sushi. More delicious fare is present.
Another smile graced his lips as she spoke, and he let out a low wolf whistle. 'After? Well don't mind if I do.'
As soon as the door closed, he grinned into her kiss. Something about having privacy finally lit the fire into an inferno as he allowed his hands to travel her body and easily hefted her up against his body, joining their hips close as his lips met with hers time and again, the kiss deepening slowly but inexorably.
Mason watched her closely and sighed.
' You seem to know me too well. I didn't have a great day today and I suppose I may be pushing it upon you and that's not fair. I.. how can I make it up to you?'
Olivia’s expression softened as she leaned against the counter, her arms crossed loosely. “You don’t have to make it up to me, Mason,” she said gently, her voice carrying an edge of concern. “We all have bad days. You’re allowed to feel however you’re feeling.”
She paused, her eyes searching his face for a moment before a small, playful smile curved her lips. “But if you really want to make it up to me... you could start by telling me what happened. No pressure or anything, just... I’m here if you need to get it off your chest.”

He leaned into the kiss and smiled.
'But after sushi, does that mean that we should have cheesecake, ice cream or...' He suggestively lifted his eyebrows before emitting a small laugh.
“What are you doing out this late?”
James looked behind him and smiled sheepishly.
'Uhh-- I was going to get ice cream for you. Well for us... mostly for me. I love you.'

No, she forced those thoughts from her mind, ignoring the pain in her knee as she pushed herself to go faster. So much so that she didn’t realize there was a man there until she almost collided with him, fumbling backwards, “Sorry - I’m so sorry. I didn’t see you, and this road doesn’t have lights, and I didn’t expect to see anyone else out here in the middle of the night, so... I’m sorry...”
