I've been reflecting a lot on what makes a moment beautiful. I can remember when I was little, I would be swimming in the rain, and it would just be this thunderous noise. this raucous smattering of little water against big water, except it wasnt raucous, it was actually really nice. And i remember sitting and floating there, and dipping my head under, and now i think man! what a shame to only be able to recognise the beauty of a moment after the fact.

Now i know it isnt true and that that isn't how it works, but whenever i'm in a beautiful moment, i tend to analyse it, and the feelings that come with it. I used to think that such analysis would diminish the value of the moment, but i realise now that that's just my way of experiencing that, and it's very special to me. some of these include sitting by my friend on the river during the rain, or the sun coming through the clouds on my short walk between buildings.

The world is beautiful and i am so blessed to be in it
