Congratulations on finding this comic. This is a collaborative project between myself and UnderscoreIsCool.

Imagine Dwarves were greatly influenced by the sort of stone they were carved from (if we are going with such a way of dwarven reproduction) for example sandstone dwarves are numerous and fair skinned, often the largest of the dwarves, and yet softer and less hardy.

Obsidian dwarves being smaller, rarer. Dark skinned and brittle, yet impressive warriors in attack. Sharp and fast, almost fluid in their movements . Most often the royalty of dwarves are made from obsidian.

Granite dwarves are also numerous and make fine warriors, as they are hardy and strong, though they are notoriously difficult to carve in the first place. Ranging in skin tone, but all heavily freckled.

I just thought of a new one.

Pumice dwarves. The only dwarves who can swim without aid. These dwarves are often employed to work in and around water, such as search and rescue in flooded mines. They’re not the most graceful creatures and aren’t considered conventionally attractive, and their personalities tend to be rather abrasive (get it?), but they are as hard working as other dwarves and are handy to have around in an emergency.

As usual in my symbiotic relationship with UnderscoreIsCool, they have asked me to illustrate Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Teddy for their AU time travel fix it fanfiction.

The story is on AO3, with the name Harry Potter And Oh Shit We Fucked Up. Do go check them out if you’re interested. It’s looking to be a pretty good fic so far.

Thanks to my friend, Labyrinth, for the gorgeous illustrations as per usual.

I based my aged up trio on the concept of See No Evil (Harry is blind in one eye), Hear No Evil (Ron is missing an ear), and Speak No Evil (Hermione has damaged vocal chords). I don’t really know why it turned out this way, but it did, and it led to my decision to explore physical disability in my writing.

As someone who lives with a disability, I might as well put out some representation. I may not have first hand experience with the specific disabilities -and I endeavour to do my research- but I understand the emotional toll they can take. The exhaustion they can bring.

Ron especially is an close tie to my personal experiences, as I have written him as suffering with chronic pain in addition to his hearing loss, and I am finding it quite cathartic, almost, to write in his perspective. (Not so subtle hint to the POV of the next chapter I guess lol)

Please do check the fic out if it suits your fancy. Generally speaking it’s a time travel fix it story set in the marauder’s era. It’s on AO3 and is called Harry Potter And Oh Shit We Fucked Up. There’s only three chapters so far, and my updates tend to be sporadic, but I have high hopes for this story.
