winter albert, with the ✨melancholy✨ in his eyes
I know some of you have been waiting for it, such as @moonflower221b or @aritealeaf so here comes more Sherlock Holmes and Moriarty facts .
Todays subject is the eldest Moriarty brother : Albert. Who's real name was Albert Henry James Raymond.
Henry was born in America, his Mother being North-American and his father being British. They moved to England after his birth.
Henry grew up in London with his parents and his step-siblings.
At the age of 13yo, his parents decided, under Albert's influence to adopt two kids they'll name William James and Louis Alice James.
William being only 2 year younger than Albert and Louis Alice 1 year younger than William.
Albert was really fond of his two siblings. Though Alice was always sticked to William and quiet around anyone else. This three shared a very special bond (later known for criminal cases).
As they lived in a violent and conservatist household. William and Louis, the unlegitimate kids were always treated violently by their mother's other kids and used by their father. Albert being their only source of kindness.
Albert lived through hell between his step-brothers violence, his mother's depression and the abuse of his father.
As a teen, Albert felt betrayed by his father once he learn he cheated on his wife. He felt locked inside a golden cage based on appearance, social and racial criteria.
He found confort in literature (Poe, Austen, etc...) so he started his studies in litterature after quitting his laws studies.
There, he met boys around his age and started exploring his sexuality. As many people kept asking him about his situationship, a pretty and young gentlemen like him should already be angaged. Some individuals started to assume he was scared of sexual intimacy due to some related trauma. This rumors served him to hide his bisexuality, considered a crime in the victorian era.
Albert became a book writer and an left activist. His books talking about major societal issues such as slavery, class system, racism, misogyny, homophobia, and I could go on...
Aside from being a writer, he was a colonel in the british Army. There he met other boys who managed to betray him after some of the letter he wrote to his amant got leaked, he faced violent homophobia. And, when helping as a nurse, was set on fire. Scars on his back could now be seen. Between whip beating and burning bruises. Albert started hating his life even more.
Him who had always though about suicide as an escape from his mind, still held on. His two siblings were still there after all.
As the time passed, he came back to them. Visiting Louis Alice, diagnosed with hysteria but later with eurastenia and cancer by their brother, William, who was now a consultant and a mathematical philosophy teacher after his studies in philosophy and medecine.
Louis Alice, as their two brothers, followed the path of litterature and wrote an autobiography.
Once Albert and William's sibling (Louis Alice) died of a supposed illness but rumors claimed it was suicide. Albert fell back in depression and William followed his sibling's path.
Albert died from pneumonia and internal tuberculosis due to an alcohol overdose. Albert was the last of his family dying, the first being Louis then William.
I am trying to define whether this is sadness or grief. When suddenly, my mind wanders back to my Mbah Uti. How her house has become hollow—the rooms gathering dust, the belongings left untouched, the curtains that no longer meet the light.
I try to recall the sight of the kebaya she used to wear, the rhythm of her walk, the lingering taste of her cooking. But it's all starting to blur.
I am...
Slowly...
Forgetting...
The shape of your smile,
The sound of your voice,
I am slowly forgetting you.
Found a manuscript painting depicting Narasimha as a tiger!
- Lord Narasimha emerging from a pillar and disembowelling Hiranyakashipu, with Prahlada on the left, manuscript folio from a Bhagavata Purana, 1760-1770
Besok, ayo kita berjuang lagi.
Oh no, poor Albert... 😢
