saw obsession for the third time tonight. greatest score of the decade, i cried this go around. my golden rule of horror is that if you want it to be scary, it has to be sad, and cast and crew nailed it. i love movies.

a lot of writing is sort of watching the film in your head like oh sorry can’t write the chapter yet i have to repeat hallucinate the dialogue first
i'm learning that what's meant for me won't cost me myself
dead serious normalize having an average boring ass life where you have enough to meet your needs we do not need to be remarkable we just need to be alive
tag game
tag ppl u want to get to know better !!!
thank you for the tag @warthymesinger! let's pretend time is a flat circle and i'm not getting to this a couple months late :^)
Last Read/reading:
This Is How You Lose the Time War, I'm halfway through and the descriptions of how characters exist and travel and communicate in this world is unlike anything else. So so creative & beautiful
Last Series:
I watched a couple eps of Dungeons and Drag Queens, it's four drag queens playing D&D for the first time! I love seeing them get so invested and confident in ep2 after being more tentative in ep1... I've got opinions about D&D but the cast (and DM!) make it so easy to enjoy!
Last Movie:
Ex Machina, freaked me tf out
Last Song:
More Lost - Quivers
Sweet or Salty:
I had a korma yesterday that sweetened me out so I'm going to go with... umami...
Coffee or Tea:
Love a grounding genmaicha... actually I'll go make one now!
Working on:
Oh dear, way too many things and as a result absolutely nothing! Kinda wanna get into screenwriting, I did write a three-pager opener I'm quite proud of that I wanna continue piecing together into a pilot!
Favourite colour:
deep blue like in the evenings and in the rothko paintings
Current obsession:
Honestly I've been thinking a lot about what some really good Avalance (Ava x Sara from Legends of Tomorrow) fanfiction I've read in the past say about me and what heals my inner child. The 100k slow burn character studies about a group of friends hanging out supporting each other having a good time in a world where there's time for what truly matters-- what a wild concept!!
Last google search:
This isn't per-se my last search but I was looking up something else and saw "cher 1980" in my search history. I recently watched Moonstruck (1987), need I say more. Cher 1980 lives rent-free in my mind now...
tagging
i'm very much a sporadic lurker so don't have many tumblr-friends, so I'll just tag a few mutuals that have recently reblogged something from me, maybe we can get to know each other! no pressure to follow the chain!

FRANCESCA BRIDGERTON & MICHAELA STIRLING Bridgerton, Season 4 Part II
I think Pluribus’ pacing allows for long, empty pauses in which the viewer can project their interpretation. It almost feels like it’s inviting you to ask yourself what these moments remind you of. I’ve seen people discuss themes of colonialism, grief, conversion therapy, loneliness, covid, rejection, etc. I cried during the first few episodes because it reminded me of how it felt after my brother died, and how hard it was to get human interaction right. I just kept fucking it up. I was angry, but everyone was just trying to help - and why did that make me so much angrier?
I think that’s what’s really interesting about this show. There’s not a lot of flash and action to distract you. There’s just repetitive, drawn out emotions to force you into thinking about these moments in different ways.
It’s an invitation to reflect on your perspective. Your experiences in life, your memories. What’s special about you, what’s a feeling unique to you? What would you miss feeling if someone robbed you of what makes you YOU?
