I'm having feelings today about Tamayo and Shinobu's partnership and the parallels they endured, and how their battle together started long before that night and how it still went on long after their horrible ends. Even though we only got hints of what their month or so of interaction was like, it was obvious that it started in a distasteful, distrustful place for both of them. Despite Tamayo's willingness to accept Tanjiro, she had centuries of reason to avoid that organization that hunts down her kind, and despite Shinobu's repeated statements of how much better it would be to get along with demons, the thought disgusted and tired her. But they were both mature enough to prioritize a common goal and be professionally courteous of one another. By the end we know that they respected one another's expertise, and that Shinobu went so far as to have admiration for Tamayo and see humanity in her. On Tamayo's part, I can't imagine her not developing some care and concern for Shinobu, even while helping her succeed with a plan that would kill her. They both worked knowing what was coming, both for themselves and each other. They both faced the reality that this was all they were capable of, for both had spent years bound down by their own limitations. They both fully accepted their fate and gave each other the strength to make those sacrifices work. Even if they never reached the point of friendship in that month they battled together, they must have shared a bond over this.
A neat subtle detail (well, not that subtle, it's still a kids' movie) about KPop Demon Hunters is how well the life experience of Mira and Zoey match Rumi's. Mira has the family that doesn't accept her being as she is, similar to Celine for Rumi. Zoey has the experience of being torn between two different worlds, two different heritages, and feeling insecure about that, just like Rumi. Right from the start the movie establishes that these two won't just accept Rumi because they're nice and they're her best friends; they're also uniquely positioned to help her deal with her trauma because they've been there before.
they are just so fun to draw ohhhh

Kpop Demon Hunters is so funny bc you just know in the writers room there were two wolves and neither one won.
There were two hardcore shippers in the studio that day and they canceled each other out, pemdas style

Here's a fun little detail about "This is what it sounds like". Mira and Zoey start in their "Golden" outfits, as they've had no time or reason to change since all that went down. It's a bit militaristic, spikes, fringes, and the main fabric seems to black sequins.
We get a closer look at the sequins during the start of the fight, when the girls are all coming together along the three stages.
And then the three girls hug, which recreates the Honmoon and rebuilds their magical alliance, and to signify that, Mira's and Zoey's outfits turn white, showing that they've been sanctified. So far, so good.
But crucially, the white outfits don't have sequins anymore. They have something else:
Patterns.
It's subtle and easy to miss, but the post-reunification outfits of Zoey and Mira are both smooth, but feature some subtle pattern work. Zoeys are a bit more playful, Mira's a bit more angular, both unique to them and their styles. But crucially, they match the demonic patterns on Rumi's skin.
The outfits are telling us that not only have the three reunited, not only have they forgiven each other, they're telling us that these girls are a unit. If one of them has patterns, they all will wear patterns, and be proud of it. They're 100% on Rumi's side.
Of course this is also what the text of the movie is literally saying anyway, it's not exactly subtle, but it's great to see it reinforced in subtle ways like this. I'm sure many people noticed it right away, but it took me several watches of the movie and the promotional Youtube videos to notice it.
