Happy Birthday Bruce Wayne you insane and silly man.
the best trope in media is: “characters turn on the lights, see the monster, and immediately turn the lights back off”
oh down in it by nine inch nails we're really in it now
miguel beating up cops compilation
the stupidest thing about this is if you walked up to someone on the streets and told them a mexican man was called an animal they would (hopefully) immediately say that that is fucked up. but because it is in a script suddenly we have an annoying influx of whataboutisms by people who are annoyingly desperate to sell their first screenplay defending the writing
i havent read marvel comics in a while so,, sorry for asking this but i saw ppl say that thats how miguel was like in his comics... is that true?? /gen
i know people want to bend over backwards to defend them calling miguel an animal, so i did everyone a favor and combed through the comics:
miguel calls himself a freak two different times. it should be noted that the failed spider experiment in issue #1 was also called a freak. not an animal. a mutant. a freak. animal-based language is not used here.
tyler stone THE MAIN VILLAIN OF THE SERIES never calls spider-man an animal. he calls him mysterious, even if he wrongfully guesses who is spider-man. he is a thorn tyler's side, but he never uses the word animal.
becoming spider-man is a biological change, yes. he is now 50% GENETICALLY a spider. but it is always discussed from either a scientific direction OR if miguel is feeling particularly self-hating, calls himself a monster/freak/etc. but that is how he feels about the mutation of his dna. NOT calling himself an animalistic bloodthirsty monster.
no one ever called spider-man in the 2099 series a bloodthirsty animal. they may call him callous and a corporate shill in later issues bc he seemingly sides with the corporations but he is NOT an animal.
