Sign I see every day going to school
Official ominous sign
I've always thought it's too bad that disco is the only kind of dance that comes with an artifact. It's compelling that disco has a Ball. I want to know what secrets will be revealed if I gaze into it. There should be a hip-hop Cube. A ballroom Amulet. A swing Diadem.
THE WAY SHE POSED AFTERWARDS HFKFBDK
My artistic rendition:
"HOO HOO HOO I'M GONNA DO SUCH A PRANK ON THIS HOOMAN"
I love how
he's not even mad at having his hat stolen/possibly eaten and
When he spots it he's like "I cann see it there" while the elephant is like "HAHHAHAHAHA WHAAAAAT NO I HAVE EATEN IT HAT WHAT HAT I HAVE NO HAT FOR YOU"
My general disposition
Did you know that in the 1933 film version of Alice in Wonderland, Cary Grant played a crying and singing mock turtle?
Sometimes you just gotta troll the depths of Ravelry and see what wild things you find
Behold!

Ok I’m making my own version based off an almalgam of signs mostly off memory. And specific signs lol
Sexiest warning sign?
“This is not a place of honor” (nuclear waste warning message)
Drowning machine
“This machine doesn’t know the difference between metal/flesh nor does it care”
“Don’t”
“I’d devour you whole if you’d let me”
“Meet the person responsible for your safety” (message shown on/above a mirror)
“I’d turn back if I were you”
“The mountains will be just as cold and lonely tonight as they were 200 yrs ago”
“Even though it’s all been unplugged, a constant hum”
“Meat -> Meat -> Meat”
Deja vu areas
“Bottomless pit”
I do enjoy when a very old classic Tumblr post (like literally a decade old at this point) comes across my Dash and I click on OP's account and their last post was like, 30 minutes ago.
Shout out to the (many) times I got called an elitist gatekeeper for saying that the only real way to fully understand a work of fiction is to experience it firsthand and that summaries and reviews are not a replacement for that
Me, reading the first 80% of the post: What do you mean, "experience it firsthand"? How am I supposed to join the Hunger Games or go on the Odyssey?
Me, reading the final clause of the post: Oh, you literally meant that people have to read the book/listen to the audiobook in order to fully understand it. And people got mad. Oh dear.
To quote what a friend of mine said after she watched Jerry Maguire (1996) for the first time, having thought she knew what it was about because of its cultural ubiquity: “you miss a lot of a movie when you don’t watch it”
I ended up having a really interesting conversation with some people at the bus stop today. They were getting out of some sort of ‘clean and sober’ meeting and had starting saying how they were so bored because they didn’t have anything to do, and had to stay at home because all their old friends would pull them back. So I said something like, ‘So this is the time to do all the stuff your parents told you they didn’t have money/time for!’ “Whatcha mean?” “You know, like when you were five and you REALLY wanted to have that toy or do that thing and you were like, ‘Please mom please I gotta have this I gotta go do this’ and they went ‘Hell no you think I’m paying for that do you want to goddamn EAT?’ “ And this light went on in their eyes. The lady is going to go check thrift stores for an Easybake Oven and I told her about Wilton cake decorating classes. The dude is going to Griffith Park and ride horses, because, ‘I always wanted to be a cowboy, and you can’t drink when you’re on a horse ‘cause you’ll fucking die!’ Fuck it. This is what being an adult is. Sure it’s bills and work and relationships, but damn it, it’s also time to do the things you LIKE. I signed up for a free class/lecture on Water Gardens. I’m going. It’s time.
Jill. Jill you are wonderful.
no joke, this is such an important aspect of overcoming trauma. I mean the trauma of abusive parents, the trauma of broke ass parents who got toxic because of it, the trauma of capitalism. Like fuck it. Go to Wrestlemania. Build a shit ton of terrariums.
One day I'm gonna get old enough where people think I am so out of touch because of my age. Not knowing that at no point in my life did I ever know what the current popular thing was and have always been clueless.
:(
That sign can’t stop him because he can’t read
Official ornithology post
Sir Terry Pratchett and Sir Patrick Stewart contributed more and achieved more for the Elder Scrolls Series than Michael Cuckbride and the entirety of the TESLore subreddit combined.
I know about Pratchett’s contribution, but not that of Stewart. What did he do?
Sir Patrick Stewart voiced the character of Uriel Septim in Oblivion.
Oblivion is a game famous for how poorly handled its voice acting was (Actors forced to say their lines Alphabetically and with no context given to them, for starters), but not only Sir Patrick Steward was given the possibility to give his lines in the correct order, he had also been debriefed beforehand about what was going on, as he was forced to learn the entirety of the Elder Scrolls Lore before he was even allowed to look at the character.
Sir Patrick Stewart knows all the lore, secret and otherwise, since Anu and Padomay all the way to the end of the 3rd era.
He knows what happened to the Dwemer.
Sir Patrick Stewart is the true holder of the elder scrolls lore.
Hence the post.
STARFLEET ACADEMY // 1.05 "Series Acclimation Mil" This is one of the original Orbs gifted by the Prophets to the citizens of Bajor. It enabled users to feel connected to the Prophets and communicate with them. So, kind of like an interdimensional comms badge that lets you talk to the Prophets. Hmm. Worth a shot.
