Hey Tumblr,

I am unpremeditatedstudies she/her (because nothing is premeditated because I dont plan), and I graduated from university in the US in May of 2025 with a double degree in Computer Science and Mathematics.

Since starting this blog .. I think in 2024? I have documented the trials and tribulations of my last year in uni on this blog but lowkey went MIA but I made it through!

Now I am home in the US, tired, drained out of my mind, and trying to figure out what is next. I am currently working as a software engineer in California and preparing for grad school. Because time moves fast after graduating, I don’t wanna waste it hence I’m keeping this blog so I am accountable!

So that's me- here's some other stuff:

I am 22, I feel so old even though I know, logically, it is young.

I am South Indian & American.

I want to be a better coder- I am pretty bad at it I think I enjoyed by Maths studies more but I will be doing my best to learn as much as I can at my job.

My profile picture is Katakuri from Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun which a segway for me to say I like anime, I play video games, and overall love engaging in media, so I don't have to deal with my problems.

What my morning has been looking like. Starting to feel unprepared for this exam ahhh.

Spent the day at the library (and I do mean the entire day), and I honestly haven't felt this good in a while.

I'm struggling with calculus, but it's a good kind of struggle, I'm slogging through the problems, and when I get them right, it's hard not to feel proud :)

Also, there's a piano in the library (the entrance, not the reading room) everyone can play if they want, so it felt like I was in an underground blues bar, and not fighting against sequences and series.

This is back on my dash! And listen, I love to see Amir Khusrau getting appreciation, but this translation ignores a lot. The original rhymes! And scans! And does playful things with register! And conveys a tone of affectionate banter between the two speakers, not least because it has them both addressing each other as sakhi (translated above as “girl”) in the last two lines. I think taking some liberties with line order is worth it to preserve more of the rest—and I think there’s a better translation of sakhi. And so:

He only visits once a year, I splurge big on him when he’s here, His kisses make my tastebuds tango. Who, bitch, your man? Nah, bitch, a mango.

Oh hi Tumblr,

Happy end of January. On Saturday I actually did something and studied for a good 3 hours before crashing out over the problem sets I got wrong. In the evening I went to this gourmet, overpriced, Japanese sweetshop for a pick me up and I rate everything I ate a 8/10 average.

I have a couple deadlines for work this week that I really hope I make with 0 stress. May February bring routine and steadiness I guess.

Any advice for a young programmer?

Quit. Get a job teaching people how to catch trout at your local Trout Hole. Retire at the ripe age of 80, rake in that sweet sweet trout retirement fund and coast until you pass away painfully at the age of 81.

Hey Tumblr,

This year I’m trying a new system where I do to do’s and tasks in a Hobonichi planner and any journaling I do is in my A5 dotted journal. So every week I try to make spreads in the planner to get myself to use it so the money I spent on it doesn’t go to waste.

Hey Tumblr,

Jesus, long time no speak. Promise I’m alive. It’s tough to post what I am up to work so you would think I would then just post my progress with grad school entrance exams...

and it would be! If.. I was actually diligently preparing for them. It's so damn bad I know I need to figure out how the hell I can take the exam and craft a good application while balancing being a full time software engineer at a startup.

It's 10 PM on a Friday as I am posting this, who knows maybe tomorrow Saturday at 6 AM i'll have my life together suddenly.

Anyways we had a ton of workshops at work lately and to focus I always doodle song lyrics in shitty cursive. Here's a cookie 🍪 if you are able to figure out what songs I was writing out.

I got Stray on PC today and its the first game I have paid for to play on my PC and oh my god the graphics are impeccable.
