Erec couldn't help but laugh at the child's attempt, though part of him was proud that the shadowhunter at least had some backbone. "What are you going to do to me Ash, I'm sure you don't have anything on you that will actually hurt me." Even if he did it wouldn't take much for him to take control of this situation. "Even if you did and you killed me, that would be as good as signing your own death warrant. A prince for a prince is just a fair trade. Sadly your court only  has one where we have far more."

Adaon looked at her, then back to where an old friend was before letting out a small sigh and putting his own hand on hers. "I can say hello later," he acquiesced, well aware the Queen likely wouldn't force him to stay. She could, though it would set an odd standard, but she wouldn't. For all that he had wanted to say hello when he saw them he was enjoying his time with the Queen and he was more than willing to stay if she wanted him to.

Oban was the last person to harp on people for not following proper protocols. He barely followed them himself sometimes. Yet Matthew was entertaining to have around, say what you will about one self-destructive person finding comfort in someone else who was just as self-destructive, so almost without thinking he grabbed the shadowhunter by the arm and physically pulled him away from the drink which would have had very bad effects on him. "Do you just accept any drink that's offered to you?" That was a dangerous thought considering how many of the drinks at his parties had bad effects on mortals. "That'll get you killed shadowhunter, don't they teach you anything?"

he recoiled a little when the title was used, half expecting his father to have suddenly appeared. yet his father was gone and he was king now in what was assuredly a plan to ruin the unseelies by the shadowhunters. "that's... is adaon well enough to return," because if anyone could fix this horrible mess it was his brother. adaon hated him and his self destructive habits but surely he wouldn't let his foolishness destroy their court. maybe he'd just end him and take over and then everything would be okay because they weren't being lead by a fool who, despite the advice the queen had given him, was probably just a pawn. it might just be the best course of action. adaon would probably be a good ruler, more so than oban who had avoided the court and all it's politics since he was old enough to attend and throw revels. before it kept him safe. he was so not a threat for the crown that arawn and erec were unlikely to kill him. now that he actually had it his behavior and lack of any real knowledge of politics were going to be an issue. "because he should probably, as soon as he's ready. there's... formalities he needed for," there actually were(adaon had missed the formal ceremonies that all unseelies were required to attend and therefore still needed to swear his loyalty to the new king.) but he was certain his tone made it very obvious that wasn't all he wanted his brother back in the court for.
