How Resolutions can be ranked higher than really any of the other episode entries is beyond me, objectively. (And it really isn’t just because I’d gone from J/C to adamantly anti-J/C by Endgame! It was never an episode I thought was a great watch even when I shipped it, aside from the monkey and the ship-side B-story. Kinda like how I’d always start at tape two of the Titanic VHS set. So my dad was able to permanently appropriate tape one as an example for recurring de-escalation training where he worked.)

(Also, hysterical that Tuvok’s nipples need censoring to avoid the mature content warning, especially given that, when filming this, Tim Russ *was* NSFW below the waist. 🤣🍆)

you know what always bugged me. that in star trek characters in command talking over comms just do it with their bridge in the background. even with their enemies. like. isn't "a picture of my ship's bridge" kind of classified? a tiny bit? and it's not even that no one mentions it but sometimes they do. like when in janeway talks to still-maquis-chakotay that one time and she makes eye contact with tuvok behind his back? in the very literal sense.... why are you showing your crewmen to her chakotay??? maquis is like a semi covert organization why are you advertising tuvok to janeway. are you proud you have him tis much. this happens constantly and i don't know why they won't move their ass a bit so they're facing a blank wall or at least get one if those green screen ms teams backgrounds so it looks like you're on the beach

I watched a bts clip on ST: Picard about how expensive things were and that’s why we get such short seasons now then the next clip was about how the starship prop models were plated in real gold.

Okay so step one: don’t plate props in actual gold. This will save at least several dollars.

I'm reading the scriptwriters' guide for TOS and it's cracking me up in many places. It's so obvious that, from the very beginning, they were already aware of so many of the issues people complain about today.

First there's a multiple choice quiz, what's wrong with this scene?

Answer: C! Absolutely Kirk would not hug the yeoman at this point! That's unprofessional!

The Prime Directive gets explained. As I keep telling people, it's not never broken, it's just supposed to only be broken for very good reasons.

For people wondering how to write a stardate: you make up some numbers!

No saluting! Yes optimism!

There is so much "think of the budget" in here. Yes you can use the shuttle bay but only if it's relevant, we have to use miniatures. Yes you can have a space suit but please don't ask for zero gravity. And where aliens are concerned, you can have some makeup but please focus on the interior differences not just tentacles!

Honestly I think Spock is a better alien than, say, Jabba the Hutt, because as human as he looks, he's much more different on the inside. People like to dismiss Star Trek aliens as "forehead of the week" but it's kind of a stage shorthand for "we're about to discover a unique culture, these people are different from you in ways you might not expect."
