The Slayer nodded as he watched Ratchet rip through the enemies with his new chainsaw hand, approving of using a very profound weapon.

"We make it out of here, I'll get you a better one of those," he said, swapping out his shotgun for his baby.

This demon....it wasn't like the ones he had faced before. Hell's denizens all resembled demons that humans had drawn or written about: red or orange-skinned, with horns, claws, and wildly inhuman. This one was inhuman, but at the same time...also not? The fact he spoke clued him in this was no ordinary demon.

"I've never heard of VoxTek. As for where you are....you're on Earth. Sort of." Somehow, this television-headed being was on his orbiting station, the Earth in plain view from the windows.

Who was this small child? And why was she all by herself? He looked around, seeing no other adult nearby, which puzzled him. Was she lost?

“I HALO jumped in from the upper atmosphere, but lost contact once I touched down in this mess. I have no idea how the signal’s being blocked, something in that Ottsel ship they swarming out of I bet.”

Plugging his fingers back into that console he began searching through every communication system he could. Despite the facility’s age and general lack of upkeep, even before the Metal Heads crashed landed here, surely there was something here they could use or modify in some way.

“It seems things physically wired into the network aren’t as hampered as wireless, I’ve only been able to connect to the Slayer’s suit cause you’ve both kept so close. But if we can figure out a way to punch through it and get my old Star Explorer down here we can use it for aerial support.”

"Then I will do my best to reconnect to your ship so that we can leave. I'll leave you two to handle our protection."

That was all Slayer needed to hear as he saw the Metal Heads begin to hone in on their location. Shotgun in hand, he fired off a few shots before letting the shotgun's grenade attachment fire, blowing through a few more of them.

"They're not going to wait for us to finish. Let's give Vega the time he needs. If you need ammo or weapons, let me know."

A demon in his midst?

It was quite the odd-looking demon. He had never seen one with a screen for a head, nor be so well-dressed. It was a curious one, to be sure, but he could feel the demonic energy coming off it. Needless to say, he wasn't unarmed; his shotgun in hand, cocked and ready to go if need be.

Slayer watched as Ratche slit on the new artificial arm, and was surprised to see the blade come to life briefly before the guard slid around it to prevent it from cutting anything.  Watching Ratchet fall over, he couldn’t help but chuckled, and reached down to extend his hand to him.

“I’m guessing that’s one way to arm yourself,” he said, “though, I’m curious as to how you’d activate it with it being your replacement hand.”  He helped Ratchet back to his feet.

“Well, now that you have that, we can leave.  I don’t feel any other demonic presence, and VEGA’s not picking anything up, either.”

Taking the Slayer’s hand and letting himself be pulled back up he placed a finger on the side of the blade and slowly turned it around and around. This was going to be some kind of fun whenever he got the chance to use it.

“That’s… weird. Ya know for Demons I figured they’d be a lot more of them. It usually take only a little showing like that to scare ‘em off?” 

Exchanging the cutting arm for the more standard one he had before, the Lombax took a little moment to stretch his upper body and get himself a bit more ready. By the end of all of this he was going to be hurting.

“But if VEGA says they’re gone then I guess that just leaves the Metal Head infestation. Still plenty of time to clear out the nest before they reproduce enough to wipe the planet clean.”

“I’d ask if you two were up to this. But I don’t really have to ask, now do I?”

The cocking of his shotgun broke the silence before he spoke. "They're as much a threat as the demons. They gotta go."

"Ratchet, if you would allow me, I can try to pinpoint the location of your ship so that we can reconvene and prepare for battle."
