@unvault [: Jude :]-
Festive celebrations, cheery and grand. A way to add some color to an otherwise dreary winter. A way, to get people outdoors for no reason at all...
It was really odd and rather pointless, yet, people seemed to enjoy it. Fell for it. Not that she minded. Half price lattes and listening to the chaos of shoppers was a highlight of her day. Or, so she thought. Until, she spotted him.
She closed in, gently, handling the situation with care. Not wanting to spook, becoming just another passer by that wanted to strike up conversation.
“It’s quiet chilly today isn’t it? I always fall for the half price deals and end up freezing. But as they say, coffee makes everything better. Don’t you think?”
crowds and gatherings were always considered free-for-all when he was in the business before, but now things have changed. instead of wielding a knife at a social gathering and waiting for the moment to strike the closest person down before moving onto the next, jude’s hands are placed firmly in his pockets and he’s watching the others in silence. an interruption from the left side sends eyes flickering in said direction, a quiet and wordless nod of agreement as shoulders tense and a chill rolls down his body at the mention of the cold.
he can see his breath a bit, and once he’s noticed it - he can’t ignore it any longer. hands pull from pockets and arms cross tightly over his chest to try and contain some semblance of warmth. jude shrugs.
“ not really a fan of coffee, ” he begins, but the bitter taste of thought is obviously on his tongue, “ so i can’t say i agree. ”
