One of my favorite things about the earlier episodes of Pokémon and even as a whole in general with the anime is the moments where we see Team Rocket and the Twerps making a truce and having to work together as not only do we get to see how well all these characters bounce off one another especially having great dynamics and hilarious, fun banter with each other. But it adds a lot depth to these characters and their dynamics especially with TRio themselves, Jessie, James and Meowth have always been phenomenal, complex and great characters on their own and they even stand out when they aren't around Ash and the gang but it's always such a blast and great whenever we see these characters putting their differences aside, some of these moments come from my favorite episodes even. Absolutely adore and love the frenemy dynamic between Ash and the TRio the most especially as they've known one another since the beginning and throughout the shows and even the movies (mainly 2000/The Power Of One & The Spell Of The Unknown) Team Rocket have risked their own lives and safety to help save all of humanity and the world itself and also saved Ash from falling to his death.
This not only shows that they genuinely and truly do love and care about Ash, but also adds more to their hearts of gold and good nature that's always been established and shown with the trio themselves and their backstories, ect. Even despite they're a pain and always cause trouble especially for Ash, but honestly for the most part they're nothing more than a minor annoyance. And besides let's not forget all the times TR are shown LITERALLY supporting and cheering for Ash and his Pokémon, rooting for his success and wanting the best for him, they've been by his side and been there almost like his companions since the very beginning, since the start of Ash's entire journey.
I also believe and think that despite everything they've done and who they are that deep down, Ash appreciates them and wishes the best for them, even hoping for them to redeem themselves, he might even respect them and probably sees the potential in them that their own boss Giovanni or the rest of Team Rocket can't even see or even recognize and TRio have been shown throughout the anime to be talented and great at other things than stealing pokémon.
I'll forever be disappointed and frustrated over how Jessie, James and Meowth didn't get the redemption arc and ending they RIGHTFULLY deserved especially after so much buildup and moments throughout the show. The series showed so much much potential to end TRio's story and showing how the three had so much going for them and that they deserved better than working for Team Rocket, there's been SO MANY episodes hinting at that. But unfortunately, their arcs/story ends with them chasing Pikachu forever leaving them unhappy and reaching towards a goal that'll never happen or be achieved, the same status quo which is so sad and unfortunate and it's also just so unfair. :(
I'll honestly forever headcanon and like to think that Team Rocket's story REALLY ended was how they were written and developed in the manga adaptation. ("The Electric Tale of Pikachu") Where Jessie, James and Meowth finally quit Team Rocket for good and settle down to live happier, better lives while Jessie and James end up falling in love and get married and expecting a child of their own. Now that's the true definite ending for TRio and I'm gonna see it as canon again this point, because I'm just really wanting to see the the three finally be happy in life and just wished they had a better ending in general as a whole. ❤️🚀
