half asleep ramblings but i’m rewarching frozen and i fucking love the subtle hints in love is an open door about hans, and the way they’re completely out of sync. the way they keep bumping into each other, their movements never flowing, as if hans is always struggling to keep up. the way hans constantly agrees with anna regardless of what’s being said, the way that hans always sounds like he’s trying to hit the same notes and the same key as anna but never quite making it, making the harmonising feel slightly off the longer you listen to it. like the other day i was listening to the soundtrack and trying to sing both parts, and it struck me how difficult it is to move from hans to anna because hans is literally all over the fucking place. it doesn’t sound bad, because it can’t. it’s a disney song, it has to sound flawless, but it sounds off. deliberately off. and it’s making me kinda crazy. idc if the hans twist was obvious, to me that’s literally not the point. the way they did it was so fucking cool and i’m gonna be sooo nerdy about this one particular song in the year 2025 and no one can stop me.

being extremely normal about "true love" being cut from the frozen proshot (true love and monster are two sides of the same coin and colder by the minute completely hinges on both of those songs so cutting true love weakens not only colder by the minute's true love motif but also its monster motif and thus weakens the climax as a whole)

"It's so nice of you to take the children overnight."

Anna beamed at her sister as she packed a few games and things for them so that Elsa would have no trouble keeping them entertained. The older sister pursed her lips and leaned over the kitchen counter, playing one-handed with the ice skater figurine that adorned the etagere.

"I'm not that curious, you know that. But may I ask why Kristoff wants the house to yourselves tonight?"

Her voice suggested innocent questioning, but her sparkling eyes betrayed Ela's cluelessness. Anna squirmed and shrugged, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ears.

"Oh, well... he just wanted us to have a romantic dinner at home. Just the two of us, before Christmas Eve. It's sort of his gift to me this year.
