ItaSaku fanfic recs

Here are my recommendations and a warning about a fandom troll you should avoid and block.

I've archived all of these fics except for Xuelianchi's "Dango". The only NSFW comic is archived (page by page) to archive.org. FFN fics are archived to fichub.net. The rest are archived to archive.org, archive.today, or both.

Here's how you can use fichub.net to find fics that have been archived there – even if those fics have been deleted from the original site they were hosted in. Just copy the fic's URL (which I have provided), visit fichub again, and paste the URL into the rectangle/box above the “export” button. Then click on the “export” button. Soon, below the “export” button, the different formats that the archived fic can be downloaded in will appear. Click on the format you want to download.

Here's a tool that lets you mute individual AO3 fics and tags: ao3-muter.netlify.app Copy and paste it to your web browser. Then follow the directions there, and you'll be able to mute individual stories even if their author is anonymous.

Why is this fanfic rec list special? The recs are stories I honestly consider good instead of popular stories. There's no Big Name Fan ass-kissing. There's only a single WIP, and its author has a proven record of finishing her stories. There are only two dead/abandoned fics. They're pretty good, and there's enough story written for them to be satisfying. All of the stories except one take place in the canon ninja world. The only modern AU is creative/interesting enough, and it isn't a "no powers" AU. There are only five non-massacre stories, and they don't butcher Itachi's character.

There's no rampant OOCness and no character bashing. There are no doorstoppers and no slow-paced fics. The stories aren't cluttered with side ships or with side plots. There's almost zero sex-negativity. There's zero harem/FMF/quckquean/community dick BS. All of the stories have graphic smut, good suggestive stuff, or both.

This list has most of the classic scenarios about ItaSaku: chance encounter in a bar, captor Itachi bangs captive Sakura (and she loves it), genjutsu fuckery, they're clandestine regular lovers, they have a dysfunctional relationship and he's fucked in the head, Itachi kidnaps Sakura, Sakura cheats on Sasuke with Itachi, they're forced to marry each other, ItaSakuSasu polyamory... the only ones that are missing are "trapped in a cave together", "forced to work together", and "she heals his eyes".

Language: Spanish World/setting: canon world Status: officially abandoned Rating: M (lime, violence, disturbing themes) Squicks/triggers: none Summary: A collection of 11 oneshots. All of them are canonverse except the last one. The only things connecting the oneshots are darkness, cynicism, and certain themes. If you're wondering "what's the appeal of the ItaSaku ship?" this story sums it up really well. Wordcount: 12000 words. My commentary: The story feels true to canon. The author manages to keep both of them very IC and also makes their relationship believable in all of the chapters/scenarios. Summary: Sakura and Naruto have been captured by Akatsuki. Itachi puts Sakura in a racy genjutsu. Akatsuki/Sakura smut ensues. Pagecount: 34 pages (excluding cover and backcover). The panels are read right-to-left. My commentary: This artist is very talented. He captures Sakura's mix of sexy and cute very well. He's very good at drawing both the foreplay (especially fingerjobs) and the sex. His hentai comics avoid a lot of the bullshit that infects most NSFW comics. There's also a focus on female pleasure. Pages 10-18 are excellent. ItaSaku = pages 5-18, KisaSaku = pages 23-24, DeiSaku = pages 26-27. The “plot” is paper-thin, but I encourage you to also read the English version if you can. The ItaSaku dialogue is really good. She's defiant throughout and he keeps trolling her. Other sources: The hentai site hitomi.la has a version you can download in .zip format. It's available in several languages there (including English and Russian). The site is full of ads and popups.

It has a very good atmosphere, and the author is good at visuals. Rating: T (there will be suggestive stuff later in the story) Squicks/triggers: none Summary: Itachi is hokage, and he's been forced to marry Sakura (who is more than willing). It's one of the most believable versions of the "forced marriage" plot. Pagecount: 125 pages so far. The panels are read left-to-right. My commentary: The author has a cute art style. She draws all of the girls (especially Sakura) very attractive. The story has a low-stakes slice-of-life romance plot, and there's good UST between Sakura and several guys. The comic is slow-paced but engaging. The author also has a track record of finishing her fan comics. Authors who are still in the fandom: Xuelianchi, AuroraGemini, Jesii_97. AuroraGemini hasn't written any new ItaSaku stories, but she responds to reviews/comments (on AO3 and on Spiritfanfiction). Jesii_97 claims she wants/plans to start writing again. Xuelianchi is still working on Dango. She's active on Deviantart, Tumblr, and Facebook.

Mahi-Mahi doesn't write Naruto fanfics anymore, but she is still writing Bleach stories. She writes Ulquiorra/Orihime (she recently finished a longfic about them) and Grimmjow/Orihime. She's recently written a One Piece fic. She only posts on FFN. Mihkail revitalized the fandom back in 2013. He's currently writing two ItaSaku longfics (“To duel with fate” and “Tempered in fire”). He posts on both FFN and AO3.

Talentless troll turd

Who is this radioactive turd you should block, mute, and avoid?

She is uglyness! She is lack of talent! She is undiluted stupidity! She is having no life whatsoever! She goes by many names. On FFN she is Daastan_go (FFN user ID: 9641605) and ctt (FFN user ID: 152947). Check out the reviews for ctt's stories. Most of the people leaving positive reviews are additional sockpuppets of hers. On Tumblr she is dushman-e-jaan. On AO3 she is Daastan_go and badgirl_61 (AO3 user ID: 2620498). She has several sockpuppets on Reddit as well.

Her specialties are the following:

1) Writing really deranged hate fics (against Sakura, or against the ItaSaku ship) and posting them with a misleading summary and tags (sometimes with misleading genres and ratings as well). She does this both on FFN and AO3. 2) Leaving long-winded hypercritical reviews on Sakura-centric and ItaSaku stories she hasn't read. She does this mainly on FFN. 3) Harassing writers who are more popular and talented than her. 4) Garbage post kid antics in Discord servers. She joined one of the KakaSaku Discord servers and posted gross images to all of the channels. Her shitty behavior contributed to that server's demise.

Her tricks on AO3 include changing the dates of her old fics so that they'll show up at the start of the page/tag again. She does that regularly. Pairing tags she spams: ItaSaku, SasuSaku, Shisui/Sakura, NaruSaku, ItaSakuShi, MadaSaku.

The troll is also a wuss who loves to dish it out but can't take it. The turd is over-sensitive about the anus it came out of.

Now don't get me wrong. The troll turd has its virtues. For instance, it writes ten sextillion times better than Athelise and his horde of sockpuppets/fart-sniffers (ten sextillion by zero is still zero). These two should co-write a fic. The result would be:

also online narcissists: infiltrate the community of specifically victims of narcissistic abuse who have asked to not be interacted with by narcissists, then attack them for revealing the tactics and manipulations of the abuse that supposedly doesn't exist, shamelessly police the victims of abuse on what language they're allowed to use to talk about abuse and then smear campaign and cancel them for 'being ableist about their abusers', speak on victim's stories of abuse in defense of the narcissistic abuser, minimizing and rationalizing all abuse with 'they're mentally ill', insisting the blogs and personal resources of survivors of narcissistic abuse need to center the narcissists themselves and spread positivity about them, even if those blogs are made by the victims of abuse! then cancelling and smearing people for not centering narcissists and for daring to make their personal blogs about themselves, insisting for 'some reason' that they need to have access and acceptance specifically in the community of the abused and mentally ill victims who are susceptible and groomed to not see the signs of abuse and who are easy to victimize again, insist that 'not all narcissists' knowing damn well that those who are abusive will absolutely benefit from this and manage to get new victims because it's now ableist for victims to recognize signs of narcissistic abuse and call them out, easily disregard humanity of victims and any member of the community if that member fails to spread propaganda and defend narcissists, demand for deletion of abuse resources and flinging insults and attacks at abuse survivors who make them.

me: I'm sure this is totally non-abusive, normal human behaviour. surely any non-abusive human goes and attacks the victims of abuse and demands access to them, against their consent, and polices their words and conversations to center them specifically. Nothing suspicious to see here folks. Better make sure you're not ableist and calling any of this out.

Walking all over victims of narcissistic abuse is easy and safe, because you can tell there won't be any backlash or cancelling, none of us will smear you or call you the worst human being who is hurting the entire world, just to make you guilty for hurting us. Opposing a narcissist, however, will do all of that. It's always safer to side with abusers than to be in their way. And a lot of the community of abused people are scared, and will go the easy route, especially if it's shown as 'morally correct'.

But it is at a cost to all of us. We need to have courage to stand up to this. If we want to have a community that doesn't shelter, defend, and prioritize abusers over victims, we need to fight for it. It doesn't do us any favours to have narcissists in charge, who will stay on top by silencing victims and molding the community to be as easy to abuse as possible for them. Even if you deep in your heart believe that 'not all narcissists are abusive', our stories are telling you that those who are extremely dangerous exist, and defending narcissists in general, makes sure that more victims come to those abusers, and are unable to call it out. Is it really worth defending them if you're risking people becoming permanently traumatized for believing you?

One of the main things that is wrong with this dumb site is that the staff do nothing about tags being spammed with 1) irrelevant content 2) content that contradicts the purpose of the tag. And don't even get me started on how many tags are flooded with fetish content.

Writing Notes: Evaluating Sources in History

Listed below are questions to evaluate and measure the credibility of primary and secondary sources.

Reasonable

Do the author’s claims or statements seem plausible?

Does anything the author states seem outlandish or exaggerated?

What does not make sense logically? Why does this material not make sense?

Trustworthy

What makes the author credible (e.g., credentials, expertise, skills)?

Was the author present at the time of the historical event?

How soon after the historical event did the author write about it?

Does any of the historical information sound biased?

Are any of the author’s conclusions biased?

Does a museum, archive, or historian provide any criticisms of the source?

Accurate

Do the dates, people, and places of an event match across primary sources?

Do primary sources describe the event in similar ways?

If information differs among primary sources, what might account for that difference?

Does the secondary source describe a historical event or person using multiple primary sources?

Verifiable

Do multiple accounts of a historical event exist, or is it only one?

Do the people providing the historical accounts agree about what happened? If not, about what do the accounts disagree?

Does the secondary source acknowledge the existence of multiple historical accounts?

Does the secondary source objectively consider the value of each historical account?

Does the secondary source cite the work of other historians or experts?

Note: History is full of conflict and controversy, so historical figures may disagree over what happened in the past. Therefore, keep in mind that even if historical accounts of an event differ, the accounts may still be considered credible. When multiple, relatively credible accounts exist, evaluate each perspective fairly to understand the full historical context surrounding an event.

You'd be surprised how many professional historians don't do this well. Evaluating sources badly is very common in academic ancient history research/writing.

A.I. photos are flooding social media and contributing to an Internet where we can't believe what we see. Spotting A.I. 📷s is an important media literacy skill.

None of us have time to research every image we see. We just need people to notice BEFORE THEY LIKE OR SHARE that an image might be fake. If unsure, check it or don't share.
