My Spidey Will au origin story:
- Will still goes missing at 12 but not cause he got kidnapped bug because he got bitten by the radioactive spider and on his way home from his friends place he ended up making a cocoon like in the new movie and it took him a week to come too.
- He is kept in the hospital for 2 months because the doctors realized his body is different but couldn’t figure it out and kept trying to “fix” him and only letting him go when one of the tests backfires and Joyce rips them a new one.
- He notices his changes soon after he leaves the hospital (it didn’t come up in the hospital cause they basically kept him drugged up) but he tries to hide it from everyone bc he doesn’t want to go to the hospital again. But he eventually ends up telling Mike and he ends up helping him keep it a secret.
- Uncle Ben is bob and to add a bit more angst, bob and joyce have been dating for 2-3 years at that point, so he’s been a father figure to him for awhile by then. He dies when Will is around 14-15 and Will feels so guilty cause he felt like he could have prevented it, and bob who found out about his powers tells him “With great power comes great responsibility” when Will keeps apologising while holding him bc he knew Will would go after whoever hurt him bc he is still his mothers son after all.
- Will does go after the guy that killed bob but as mad as he was he got very close to accidentally killing him, since although he secretly practiced his powers he never used them against someone. He then left him hanging for the police before leaving.
- He takes months of rigorous practice on controlling his strength after that but he was still scared to go out bc he doesn’t want to end up hurting someone. But then an accident happens a kid gets held hostage or something like that, and he finally puts on the suit he worked on that has been sitting in his bag for months now and saves the kid.
