Saw a post about how people find poly couples ugly, and it’s largely due to them being fat or trans/gnc. I have to say the majority of poly couples that i’ve seen are the opposite, or have kids and that’s what confuses people. they can’t fathom 3-4 people coexisting and coparenting and think its weird to subject kids to that. like sometimes couples will go “idk who the dad is and that’s fine because the kid has 2 dads and 2 moms” and im like yeah my own dad didn’t even know his real dad. what’s interesting to me is that when it comes to breaking the norm peoples first thought is always “but the kids. think of how it will affect them.” and the kids turn out fine. but of course they don’t think of the kids when they’re getting a divorce or subjecting their kid to abuse whether it be verbal or physical. the difference is communication. these parents are being open with their kids so that they learn what love can look like. I didn’t learn what love could look like for me so my journey to find myself was stunted. also, what about the parents who think that’s weird and also don’t accept their kid being gay. like mine. i’d rather have a community who supports me! i’ve said this a million times before but everyone always says it takes a village to raise kids, but people don’t like the village!

I know I already made a post to this effect but it's so baffling to me when someone defends the fact that headphone jacks are slowly but surely getting phased out by smartphone manufacturers with some variations of "wireless headphones are more convenient anyway" bc like. If we're talking about convenience what I like about wired headphones is that they conveniently have a single plug that makes the same damn pair of headphones universally compatible with every single audio-output-capable device I own, from my phone and my computer to my fucking gameboy and my casette player, it doesn't get any more convenient than that.

one of my coworkers yesterday had to write a report on an incident that happened and I was reading it for typos and figuring out how to properly word it and she goes “i’ll just ask chat gpt.” I went no it’s okay i’ll be your chat gpt… cause huh?? like you saw what happened!! she also couldn’t spell basic words right! insane behavior!
