“You should be going to bed.”
Misaki stood in the doorway of his boyfriend’s office, leaning against the frame as he struggled to stay awake. The room before him was nearly black, the only light source being from Akihiko’s computer as it bathed what could be seen in a soft blue. Said man glanced in his direction as he spoke, the dark bags beneath his eyes disturbingly noticeable even in the dim light of his computer screen. "Aren’t you the one who always wants me to finish my work on time?“
"You haven’t slept for, what, three days? Usagi-san, you need to rest.” The man wasn’t even late on his deadline this time. It was actually quite the miracle.
“I’ve had a sudden inspiration. I can’t stop now.” Misaki sighed quietly at the response. He was an author, after all, but that didn’t mean he was giving in so quickly. The boy shifted his pose to lean more comfortably against the door frame, squinting his tired eyes at the far more exhausted man. The quick tapping of keyboard keys continued as he stubbornly stood there, and with each passing moment, he found it harder and harder to keep his head upright. “Idiot. You’re going to fall flat on your face” Akihiko stated as Misaki jerked up at the feeling of nearly falling over. “Go to bed, Misaki.”
“Well look who’s talking.”
“I’ll meet you in the bedroom.”
“That’s what you said last night.” Stubborn. He really was stubborn.
“Alright,” Akihiko patted his lap, “come sit down. I’m almost done with this chapter.”
“That is not what I meant when I said I wanted to go to bed.”
“And that’s not what I meant.” Yeah. Right. Sitting on his lap was practically an invitation for sex. Misaki couldn’t breathe without it turning the other man on. But after once more nearly falling over, he dragged his tired self over to Akihiko, getting right in front of the chair before an arm came up under his legs and swept him up into a bridal-style hold. Akihiko settled back down in his chair, Misaki’s legs propped up on the left armrest and his head cradled just below his chin. The startled boy honestly would have chewed the other out for manhandling him, but all he could focus on were his heavy eyelids wanting to do nothing other than close. He listened to the tapping of keys as he slowly drifted off to sleep.
Little did they know, this was just the first of many times they would find themselves in this position. Akihiko would soon find comfort in doing his work with his small Misaki nestled on top of him.
